I would like to chime in for early October, because I have a friend
coming into town the 23-25 (assuming the war isn't at that time; when I
told him I wasn't sure when the war was, he said he would cancel the
trip if they happened at the same time). I would like to be able to do
both the war and the visit, if possible ^_^ .

Now here comes the hard part -- how much does the DP leader tell or
HAVE to tell the Cousin loop leader?
Some of the most fun of the war is the element of surprise. You want
to have fun, right? So try not to panic and need to know EVERYTHING
about your upcoming attack. The logistics is often enough--where,
when, will anyone be there, etc.
Also, now that the Cousin Loop leader knows about the attack, there
goes the element of surprise, right? The Cousins will put on guards
and the HQ will be so booby trapped that no even a flea could get in
an out.
WRONG! What's the fun in that? If the DP's are doing the right thing
and advising you of an impending attack, play along. You may yet turn
the attack to your advantage. It doesn't mean that you have to agree
with every attack that comes your way, but you should make an effort
to accommodate most attacks as best you can.

in about an hour.

To review--The DP loop leader and the Cousin loop leader have agreed
the attack will take place Monday afternoon and that a Merc will
arrange the diversion, a special showing of the widescreen edition of
"Ben Hur" at a local theatre. The Cousins still don't know what the
attack will consist of and will await the contact from the Merc to
find out who is supposed to be setting up the party.
The DP leader now has to hire a MERC to do the dirty deed and WRITE
THE DIVERSIONARY POST. This is one less post the DPs have to write.
* Could the Cousin leader have turned down the attack? Sure. The HQ
could have been busy or they might have been occupied there for
another reason--like somebody else might have been attacking (that
can lead to fun posts--have two people attacking you at the same time
and they run into each other!).

I can do that. Will cost you ten pounds of chocolates and 10 Slim
Whitman cassettes. Free popcorn and soda during the movie will cost

junk. Perugina is acceptable or Bacci if necessary.

posted if it's appropriate within game time (i.e., other people are
posting things that occur Sunday night through Monday afternoon).
Let's check in on the Cousin's loop to find out what's been happening
while this has been going on . . . .
* What if someone really had a problem with the post? They have a
right to pull out of the post if you can't come to terms. Happily,
that doesn't happen too often. Don't let it get personal and don't
sweat the small stuff.
* What if nobody had checked the Merc's post? No big deal. Maybe
the loop leader should have mentioned it earlier and it slipped her
mind.
Maybe she figured that since none of the other DPs were mentioned in
the post, it wouldn't be important.

I think we're looking at midnight on Friday Oct. 1st, as the day
becomes Saturday, Oct 2nd. Then we'd go for ten days, until midnight
at the end of Oct. 11th. Note that the midnight in question would be
midnight in the war master/mistress's time zone.
Will and of this be a problem for anyone? If so, please let me know.
