lists.
Susan Garrett, prolific fan fic writer and writer of the FK novel "Intimations
of Mortality" has died aged 49.
She will be sorely missed.

I also hadn't heard!!!! We hadn't exchanged e-mails in a very long time, but for
a while were good e-friends. Any news on what happened or an obit? She wasn't
much older than me.

Since I am not a family member I don't know the details but Susan had been very
ill for some time. Those of you on Facebook please look for Shawn M. Garrett
(Susan's brother). It was through his note on Susan's page that I learned she
was sick.

Thank you, Doris, for the news even if it is very sad. In a way, she
was the fanfic writer who "made it" with getting sanctioned novels
published in the FK world she loved.

She apparently passed away from an infection during treatment for cancer.
I've "messaged" her brother through Facebook to give him my (and our)
condolences. I included my e-mail address so he can contact me if there's
anything we can do. It always seems so empty to make that offer but sometimes
there truly is some way we can help.

I heard her give a talk about her book at a Borders in NJ when it was released.
I am so proud to have her autograph now! Her talk was about the history of the
vampire myth and it was awesome. I'm glad to have met her.
She signed my book: "All that we are and seem is but a dream within a dream."
And she has very nice handwriting.
