In the Forever Knight Website Archive, we've got a combined edition of the two known versions of Merc Central (off the Wayback Machine and saved by Desiree). If we are indeed preparing for War, perhaps Cerberus could set up something on Facebook. Not only do I spend an inordinate amount of time there, I can access the site from my cellphone. This means I could spend my lunch on War business instead of reading whichever trashy novel I'm into at the moment. Even if War is still on the distant horizon, Facebook could be a better place for Cousins to congregate than Yahoogroups, you know? Once I get something set up, I'll let the Cousins know (unless one of the other heads of Cerberus beats me to it). If any of the other heads of Cerberus are still out there, contact me off-list, okay? If Don was, then he forgot to cc: me on his reply, which is not like Don. Please remember that the rules require an authorization from either Don or me for an OT post. We often do authorize them, and I generally ask the poster to mention that. The reason is that lists (not the FK lists) have been known to get out of hand with OT traffic. We want to be sure this never happens here. Thanks! I had my first FK dream in several years last night. I haven't had this dream in probably over a decade so it was even updated to account for those years. I found FK during it's second season but didn't find the list until after the end of third season. I've been in three wars but really only wrote a little in one war. I've played with the Vaqueros (Vachon's faction) and with Nunkies Anonymous, but have always been a true fan of Javier Vachon. As such, he's the focus of my dream. In my dream the show Forever Knight was really the first reality show on television except none of us knew it was real. Perhaps that is why it was so good, it was real. Although there are actors out there that look like the main characters of the show, they were paid a ton of money to perpetuate the myth that the show featured actors. The crew people, directors and producers signed confidentiality agreements to never divulge that there really were vampires on the show. This is also the reason there were only three seasons. The vampires started getting recognized in public and had to disappear. The found actors who looked like them while they themselves left Toronto. That's why third season is so different. They did bring in some new, younger vamps to save on the special effects budget, and used the new actors in the previous vamps roles for third season only. However, Vachon has kept tabs on the vamps from FK and has written several books, although none of them published, on the lives of the them after the show. These books would result in Vachon's death if they were ever discovered by the public so he only let's very few people read them. Last night Vachon and I ended up in the hotel and we met up to talk. He showed me the original three books he let me read a few years after the show ended, the fourth book that I had read in manuscript format, and the twelve books he has written since. He still travels light and keeps all of his possessions with him, including now a laptop and backup hard drive. He was going to let me read the new volumes but there was a disturbance at the hotel and he was too nervous to get them out of their hiding place. I did get to leaf through the original four books that I had read before. That's how I originally found out Nick Knight, LaCroix, etc... were real people, not actors. Anyhoo, it's pretty funny that a little talk about war on the list would nudge my subconscious into dreaming about Vachon and the books again. Wow, Rae, that's a fascinating dream! Thanks for sharing it. I've been known to dream that the show either was back on the air or had been continued after Last Knight. Generally I hate everything about the new version, so I guess my subconscious has a case of sour grapes. :) McLisa mclisa@m....... ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 22 Jul 2010 12:20:54 -0400 From: Lisa McDavid <mclisa@m.......> Subject: Re: Cousins on Facebook? Submitting proposals for WM, sorting out timeframe, sorting out faction leaders & availablity... time to gather permission slips, etc.... War isn't just a quick thing to start up. *grin* ~Mildred Merc Mommy General of the Forever Knight Mercenaries Guild ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 22 Jul 2010 09:38:06 -0700 From: NAT <nat1228@c.......> Subject: Knighties Unite!
