Subject: FKFicFest Game Sign-up Reminder
There's one more week to sign up for the FKFicFest game on
LiveJournal! Sign-ups for the ficathon should be submitted as
comments on the rules/sign-ups post
(http://community.livejournal.com/fkficfest/2309.html) no later than
11:59 PM (Pacific Time) on Thursday, March 18.
So far, we have 14 committed players! Three cheers for them! That
means a treat of at least fourteen new FK stories at the fourteenth
anniversary of the first airing of "Last Knight."

three points:
(1) *What is a ficathon?* Several fiction-writing games have
become popular under that name. In this one, players exchange three
FK fanfiction prompts; you write a story inspired by one of someone
else's prompts, and receive a story written by someone else inspired
by one of your prompts.
(2) *What if I don't have a LiveJournal?* LiveJournal offers
free accounts. Alternatively, if you have an account with one of the
other big blogging services, I believe that you can use OpenID to
post, as long as you tell us in advance. (If you have a solid reason
for not using any of those options but still want to play, get in
touch and we'll work something out.)
(3) *Can ficathon stories be posted to fkfic-l?* YES! We
hope all the players will post their stories to fkfic-l after the
ficathon. (The ficathon game is to help make new stories, not to
impose on any of the places we already share stories!)
Amilyn (Natpacker Amy) and I (Knightie Amy) are co-hosting this

Subject: PRAYER: My uncle - update
Thanks to everyone for prayers and good thoughts, me and my family are very
thankful to all of you who care.
Uncle Ken is still very ill, the doctors are still baffled. He went
downhill very quickly over the weekend, ended up in Critical Care for 24
hours but he's back on the regular ward now. The doctors are thinking it
might be a hard-to-detect form of cancer; they have taken biopsies and blood
and are waiting for the results. They are leaning towards a kind of blood
cancer.
We are hoping for some news, good or bad, in the next couple of days. We're
all exhausted from driving up and visiting, there is nowhere to stay and
we've had nights on floors and sofa's. We're all home again now and will
stay here till after the weekend unless the hospital phones for us.
