The relevant wiki pages have now had the spelling of the names corrected; and a couple of new pages have been made, too. Greer gwatson2@r....... http://www.foreverknight.org/FK4/ ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 1 Feb 2010 15:44:47 -0500 From: Greer Watson <gwatson2@r.......> Subject: Yet another wiki question I've just made a wiki page for the German titles of the FK episodes. As everyone knows, the show was dubbed when it was shown in Germany; and that means that they had German names for the episodes, as well. However, usually they didn't just translate the title but gave it a new one altogether. So that means translating the German into English so most people can understand what it means. So, first up: given that my command of German is a memory from high school (plus an on-line translator), it would be helpful if one of the German-speaking list members would have a look at the page and correct what I've done. I'm sure that things can be improved. (http://foreverknight.wikia.com/wiki/German_Episode_Titles). Second: since they often gave the shows entirely new titles, there's nothing at all strange about the Season One episode "For I Have Sinned" being renamed "Der Racheengel" ("The Avenging Angel"), it did mean that the Season Three episode "Avenging Angel" had to be renamed. Apparently it was called "Tödliche Rache" (Deadly Vengeance). So far, so good. But the source I got the names from also gives "Der Racheengel" as the new name for "Hearts of Darkness". That would mean that both "For I Have Sinned" *and* "Hearts of Darkness" have the same name in the German version of FK. Which would be unusual--though not impossible, I guess. But it's at least as likely that the website I got the list of names from has an error in it. On-line research hasn't been terribly helpful, being secondary sources. In fact, the obvious places to look (Loftworks, Mr Happy) don't give any third season German names, since the show hadn't aired yet there at the time those websites were made. Does anyone have tapes of the actual German episodes they can check for me?
