Has anybody else noticed that Chiller is having mini-marathons this week?
They did it yesterday and there are several episodes on tonight as well.
Tonight, they're starting with Dark Knight.

Yeah, we were notified of this last week I think hehe. I watched some eps,
was not impressed with Ger's 'hosting' of the marathon. Didn't get to see him,
nor were the hosting bits very cool. I would like to see Ger in something
better.....

Oh good, I'm not the only one. I was going to post a comment like this, but
thought I was being overly critical. I thought the 'hosting' parts were a
bit, ummm.... corny. Didn't bother with my plan to stay up and watch more of
the eps.

One of the things I like best about "The Fix" is the switching of all
establishing shots (the CN tower, the stationhouse, etc.) from
nighttime shots to daytime shots. I thought it went well with the
theme of the episode.

"Partners of the Month" has SOOO many great lines:

Nat to Nick over the phone:
"Oh, you're eight-hundred years old, what's an egg?"

Schanke to Janette at the Raven:
"Am I wrong, or did we just walk into a Sinatra song?"

Re: Watching FK on Chiller

As per others' comments, I think GWD actually
DID phone them in. It's not so much that he's
hosting as that there are a few comments thrown
in here and there. They are interesting if you haven't
heard them before, and they have a cozy, comfortable
feeling if you do know about them. (Yeah, Rabina is
sickly sweet, o.k., we got it).

What I like about the "marathon" is sitting on the
couch watching the stories on a larger TV than
usual and putting up with the commercials because
just watching it on Chiller makes me feel part of a
larger group. FK fans are far and few between in
AZ and it's nice to know that hundreds, if not a
few thousand are watching the same episode at
    the same time.

It's not what I call hosting. It's more like comments. Interesting, but I
don't think they're all spontaneous. Some of the ones I just heard during
both parts of Dark Knight and Only the Lonely sounded to me like he was
reading from a prepared text. That doesn't mean he didn't write it, but it
didn't sound spontaneous, either.

Thank you, Ger. And thanks to the entire cast for making a show that is
still worth rewatching.

To be fair, I think the hosting is more for newbies, people who have
never seen FK before. So I am willing to give Ger a pass on this.
Who knows, all this new exposure might actually bring new interest to
the fandom. The DVDs are out there, and at an affordable price, FK is
on Hulu free to watch. And Darnit its fun to see it aired on tv.

Remember those goofy promos SciFi... excuse me, Syfy had with the
nosferatu guy? Anything is better than that.

I would think it would be from a prepared text since he they had the
appropriate snap shots and writing on the screen to fit the text. At least they
are doing something. I like the promo where they mention before Edward etc
we had Nick Knight.

Oh, yes! I was thinking last night as I watched how much the show has brought
into our lives in the fandom: good friends, creative opportunities in fanfic
and crafts.

McLisa, thankful for this list and Fkfic-l over the years
