I'm relieved they didn't get your sense of humour. Clearly you had that
with you, and the Nick Knight DVD can be replaced. I do believe they're
available from time to time on eBay. I've been burgled and I know what it's
like to come home to the intrusion, but keep your chin up. You're safe and
that's what matters. Plus you have your laptop and that's great news, too.

PN Elrod (Nigel's co-writer) and I will be guests at FenCon sci fi convention
in Dallas this weekend (www.fencon.org ... I think).

Is anyone planning on being there?

Occassionally you can find the DVDs available at Fry's Electronics or Best Buy.
You do need to keep your eyes open for them though and they are usually the
full price of about $49 (or $60, for some reason, the price increased a while
ago) per season.

Amazon will have them from $20 for used to starting at $26 for some new ones;
again, per season. Some of them ,Amazon supplies itself, others it offers through
other vendors. I've bought things this way from Amazon and have had pretty
good luck myself.

"My Boyfriend is a Vampire"

This is one of my favorite episodes.

1. The Opening
The "Jerry Show". This was so true to life, I almost turned the TV off the
first time it was on.
"Wellness Love" and "Unwellness Love" What is going on in Natalie's head?
Is she buying this "unwellness love" crap?

2. Jennie Jones Three Ring Circus
Captain Reese complains about Jones's show. In the mid-nineties, she and
her show were sued over one of the shows. Several people were on and were
told that they were the subjects of "secret crushes". One of the men was
the subject of s secret crush by a male co-worker. A few days after the
show, the subject of the crush killed his admirer. (see:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Jenny_Jones_Show)

3. Tracy: I have a plumber stopping by my apartment.
One who is working nights, I guess.

4. Irony
Tracy is talking to Vachon: Nick is such a skeptic.
Vachon: Know him that well, do ya?

5. Relationships: Tracy: Sometimes it's hard to tell if you have a
relationship
That seems to be the theme of the episode.

Why is Natalie so P.O.'d at Nick? It's not like she doesn't know what his
is and what he's capable of. I think she pretty well knows he doesn't want
to make love 'cause he's afraid he'll kill her. It sounds like she accepted
the "unwellness love" completely.

6. Maggie's apartment.
Tracy runs into the apartment 'cause someone is poking around in there.
How come when she hears the commotion -- and then spots both Nick and
Vachon in the kitchenette, one of the funniest scenes in the series -- she
knew exactly where the light switch was to turn the lights on?

Then back at the station, Nick asks Tracy if she got everything
straightened out with her "plumber"? He can barely keep a straight face.

7. At the station:
The interview: You were cheating on your wife. . . . .
Oh, no, not dead, Mr. Upton, <pause, and apparently miming a snip just
below his waist> just a little less of a man.

Oh, priceless! The writing in this one is the best.

8. Reese still can't get water from that cooler.

9. Reese, Nick, and Tracy are talking about the Jerry Show.
GWD smiles more in this episode than all the rest put together, I think.
Was he on happy pills or something?

10. Natalie is in Nick's loft listening to LaCroix.
Nick comes up behind her and she tells him she wants to give up on him.
She won't tell him why.
This is one of those things in the battle of the sexes, it is undoubtedly
sooooo obvious that they need not be voiced.

11. Tracy's Kitchen
Vachon, looking in her fridge: You arrange this stuff alphabetically?

Why does this not surprise me? :-)

12. In the studio parking lot.
Natalie is performing her ice queen imitation.
Nick tries to talk to her, she brushes him off.
Tracy tries to save the day. "Sometimes we use, and sometimes we get
used."
Doesn't Natalie know that Tracy is seeing Vachon? (Or would like to anyway)

13. The Sting, i.e., Tracy on the street meeting her informant?
She says she feels ridiculous. She does look ridiculous.

Nobody caught "the fatman had his gunsle ice Thursby . . ."?
And it's Charley who says "it sounds familiar"?

14. At the Raven, Nick and Vachon are talking and LaCroix joins then
LaCroix laments the changing times and how it's affected Nicholas: "He's
become so limited, so jejune."
I think Nigel Bennett is the only person alive who could say "jejune" and
mean it and not sound ridiculous. (And pronounce it correctly as well.)

15. Vachon's flashback with Screed and Bourbon.
It appears to me that they have just made love to the women, then bitten
and drunk their blood. It's not absolutely clear that they made love, but
it looks and sounds like it. This would have a lot of significance with
Nick and Nat's relationship.
Personally, I think they did make love. The reticence that Nick feels
toward making love to Natalie is his fear that he might bite her and kill
her if they were to do that. That would put a severe crimp in the
relationship. I don't think it's that he is unable to perform.
Normand Bissonnette played Bourbon here, and previously in "Stranger then
Fiction" he played the vampire Christian.

16. The Card
I guess several stories have been written about what was on the card.

Natalie: if I start talking about wellness and unwellness love, shoot me.
Can we hold you to that?

Of course, now, with a few flowers and card, now she is all understanding.
