Subject: Children of Cain

Can anyone recall offhand in which episode LaCroix made that remark about
vampires being the "children of Cain"? And what exactly his words were?
The latest installment of the "Macedonian Vampire series" has reminded me;
and I'd rather like to add it to the FK Wiki.

Subject: Episode Discussion: Blackwing

Among the things that I find intriguing about this episode:

1. Nick recoils from the obsidian knife. In other episodes, the objects
that injure or repel him are related to the Christian religion: Nick
obviously recognizes them, and they belong to a religion that he personally
believes in. Up till now, therefore, we've had no real proof that his
"allergy" hasn't all been just in his head--something that I suspect Natalie
has always had her doubts about.
However, here we have an object that is related to a different
religious belief. In itself that would be a nice touch. But furthermore,
Nick clearly has no idea that the knife is a ritual religious object. Even
so, it affects him the way a cross does. This means, of course, that his
reaction to it cannot be attributed to some sort of psychosomatic response.

2. The background to the episode may not be quite historical; but the
Mississauga Indians are real. There really was a treaty with them. And
they do have a land claim. Someone was doing research here!

3. I've always loved Vachon bringing a case of bottled blood back home.
That's a lovely scene. (We never got to see enough of him in my opinion.)
On top of that, the case is labelled "Point Pelee Estates". That's
another nice local touch. Point Pelee is one of the wine-producing areas of
the province of Ontario, so it's a very authentic-sounding cover for a
"wine" producer.

Hello out there.
This sunday at 9:00PM on ABC there is a new show airing called Defying
Gravite.
James D. Parriott both created this series and has written the first two
episodes

Christina Cox (Joan Of Arc in season 1 and a very annoyed traffic officer
in season 2) is one of the regular cast.
