"It's time to end this. I have to try; I owe it to Janette."

Imagine my chuckle when I heard Ger utter these words. And he looked like a
dork in the Highlander episode "Turnabout" ;)

Love Hulu LOL.

Subject: Looking at FK again

My husband surprised me by suggesting we watch FK again. So here are my
thoughts on the episodes we've seen thus far.

Dark Knight

 - Don't know why they put Nat in that painter hat!

-- I *love* the "I Love Perogies Polka" that's playing on the radio when
Schanke gets in the Caddy in the hospital garage. Do you think that's Fred
Mollin doing the singing? That would explain why it never made it onto any
of the CDs...

-- It's interesting to compare the treatment of the "no brakes" episode
between Nick Knight (Rick Springfield pilot) and Dark Knight. In Nick
Knight, you actually see the wild ride; in Dark Knight, I think it's much
more entertaining to hear Schanke tell Nick what happened.

---  I'm glad the loft didn't burn down, but heaven knows why it didn't;
that part doesn't seem to be fully explained.

For I Have Sinned

-- I feel really thick for missing the major theme here of Nick's aversion
to crosses and crucifixes, and how he overcomes it to save Magda's life at
the end. Doh!

-- I don't like the prop cross that they made for Joan of Arc. It's just too
crude; if someone had a knife to make the ends neat, why on earth couldn't
they also make a rabbet (notch) on each of the pieces to make it fit
together a little better in the centre. It smacks of the belief that the
past is populated with stupid, unskilled people - a pet peeve of mine, can
you tell?

-- I like the fact that Nick keeps looking at the statue of St Anthony of
Padua in the church; he's the patron saint of lost things, and I believe he
was also supposed to fly.

Last Act

-- The theme of the blood containing memories and emotions is pretty cool in
this episode; it's a pity that we didn't see it come up again until
Francesca.

-- It's interesting to note that Janette apparently knew and liked Erika
(from her comments about sending Erika her decorator, and describing Erika
to Nick), despite the fact that Nick & Erika had been pretty close in the
past.

-- I love Schanke's role in the investigation here; he really does seem to
be a full partner.

-- This episode has two of the best lines in FK: "Don't drop him, Nick -
think of the paperwork!" and Nick's line about enjoying the "middle ages".
