Subject: Fan Fiction for business update
I'm not sure how many folks know I started writing FK fanfic several
years as a practice/test for a career as an author. My novel is in
the vampire genre, urban fantasy and from my fanfic, I decided that I
have enough of a voice and style that people might actually read what
I write. (No, I'm not done with it yet. But I promise many FK
references that people will get; my main character is loosely based
on Larry Merlin :)
My business partner was a panel member at South By Southwest last
week and was on a panel describing how a Twitter fan fiction campaign
netted one of our clients an advertising award. (He is Michael
Bissell :)
