I've been going for years: it's a really nice academic conference with about four hundred attendees, most of them from universities and colleges, but quite a few authors also go. Lots of papers, in multiple sessions (that sometimes makes it hard to choose which one to go to!), as well as panel discussions and author readings--not to mention the various activities scheduled in the evenings. This year, for the first time, I'm giving a paper on Forever Knight. It's a funny thing, but people give lots of papers on other vampires (in books, films, and TV); but you hardly ever get one on Forever Knight. I figured it was about time. Also, I've been doing so much work on the Forever Knight Wiki that the show's been in my mind a lot. The paper's called "(Meta)Physical Reflections on Forever Knight". It discusses the odd balance that the show keeps between the physical/medical/scientific approach to vampires and the metaphysical/supernatural approach. I discuss everything from vampire eating habits to near-death experiences! That sounds wonderful, Greer! Good luck and have fun. I'd love to read your paper sometime! Nat ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Nancy A.
