IF that were true, then they couldn't be photographed. But our vampires CAN be seen in a mirror, and thus the photography myth is not true---in this particular universe. Please note this is just a guess. In the process of writing my novel (the long, ongoing, process ;) I've been steeping myself in vampire literature and research regarding the whole sujbect of vampire lore.
