Mona here, who would like to point out that there's a big diff between ingestion and injection. (She would also like to point out that she only quoted four lines from each post as well, but the quotes seem awfully unwieldy at this time.) <returning to lurk mode> ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 13 Aug 2008 08:45:58 +0800 From: eruve erundun <eruveerundun@y.......> Subject: Re: Vampire Blood Injected in Human Characters "Amy R." <akr@l.......> wrote: <snip> Separately, my theory was that Sofia's treatment includes some unknown element in addition to her blood to achieve this effect, as a contrast to what happened in "Fallen Idol." I don't know whether it was wholly fiction or had some element of historical truth, that story of the mad noblewoman who bathed in the blood of girls to maintain her youth, Elizabeth Bathory was the Hungarian countess who bathed in the blood of virgins, thinking that it would keep her young. They figure that she killed something like 600 peasant girls in the process. She finally killed a girl who was part of the minor nobility, and, of course, that couldn't be overlooked, so she was arrested and tried for her crimes. They walled her up in her own castle, and she lived that way for another 6 years. She was a close cousin to Vlad Tepes, so when reading, one often finds their "bloody" histories linked together. ------------------------------ End of FORKNI-L Digest - 12 Aug 2008 to 13 Aug 2008 (#2008-191) ***************************************************************
