Considering Nick can see in the dark (or as well as
one assumes a cat can) it makes sense. Now, that
doesn't do much for perpetuating the "mortal" cover
story, mind you...

In the flashback, Lacroix actually backing down from his callous
remark of the runaways -"They're lunch." at Nick's even-toned,
"You've had your fill, leave them be".

I wondered a bit about that.

Lacroix wasn't exactly afraid of Nick but there was a great deal
of respect there...wonder what prompted it.

Then there's the curious lack of respect from the overseer. Nick is
dressed very well, obviously someone of means and this guy just
tromps in all over his property muttering veiled threats.

If Nick gave the sort of glances he gave the guy to me...I'd be
running - he had that distinct "you're this close to being lunch
meat" look.

I don't mean to disagree, and of course you are absolutely right about
there being no no "flesh shots," but I have seen dubbed VHS copies of
one German airing of FK's first season, and what I saw does have
_some_ brief footage that is additional to the Canadian airings. In
almost all cases, those shots are "atmosphere" extending the existing
scenes -- the camera lingers longer on a set or prop, or a character
walks a few more steps across a room or down a street. I do not
recall any of them including dialogue. Nevertheless, those bits are
additional to the Canadian airings.

My favorite is Nick picking up and setting down a book on the credenza
next to his answering machine. Just a few seconds -- but what a
prize! :-) Nick reading! In his home! Knightie-bookworm joy. ;-)

The one scene in all of first season in which I found a substantive
content addition in the German episodes I saw was what I think of as
Ilsa's flashback inside Nick's flashback in "Dead Issue." It's only a
few seconds long, again, but the German version I saw shows either
Ilsa remembering, or Nick imagining, the painter attacking Ilsa, which
is not in any of the North American versions I've seen. This made a
big impression on me, because of a long-past, intense dispute over the
breadth of the painter's culpability in the story, and the painter
character's relation to the real historical personage on whom he is
based. That dispute would have been different had we seen that brief
footage.

I do not know the ultimate origin of the German episodes I saw, but
they were in German audio -- and adapted, not straight translated (cf.
FIHS and what the women say on the phones) -- and they seemed to have
been taped off a television broadcast. Perhaps they were the very
first broadcast? I have heard that even in Canada, the very first new
run was clipped for the initial reruns, but I do not know that for a
fact.

I do know, from a recent conversation with Valerie, that the DVDs are
missing footage I have on my Canadian VHS tapes. We discovered
missing dialogue in the flashbacks of "False Witness," darn it. My
copy of the DVD lacks all Lacroix and Nick's lines about, "Why do you
think that is, Nicholas? Is it because they have souls?" Instead, it
just stops with Lacroix saying, "I'll never compare to them."

I have created a fanlisting especially for the Valentines called Dangerous
Minds. The fanlisting is for fans of Natalie and LaCroix, our favorite
coroner and master vampire; respectfully. This is for either those who
want to see them as a couple or who simply enjoy the intriguing chemistry
between the two antagonists who each feel they know what is best for Nick.

The URL is
http://melsdomain.50megs.com/foreverknight/dangerousminds/index.html . It
is also now an "official" fanlisting at thefanlistings.org
<http://thefanlistings.org/> . Look under the topic TV/Relationships, F,
Forever Knight. Check it out.

Aha. Wiki amended, then.

We do know that:
1. There were at least three episodes in which fleshy bits were
filmed (this from the actors who were there during filming)
2. That there was a contract that required the delivery of the fleshy
bits (this from someone who saw the contract)

We had never heard from anyone who had actually seen fleshy bits
aired in Germany - it was assumed they were aired when the series
first went on the air in Germany. Thank you for the confirmation
that they did not actually air the fleshy bits.

Also, we now have an FK fic based tab menu and an FK basic menu
attached to pages to ease navigation

I've finished creating the shells for the episodes - anyone who has a
mind to can populate them.

I've posted how you can add yourself to the fan wiki.

I'm going to make a template tonight for fanfiction pages, so you can
link stories to the wiki. You don't post the story there, you just
create a page with basic info about the story and link it to an
active website.

Is there anything else anyone wants or needs to do that they can't
figure out? If so, let me know and I'll try to help.

I hope you don't mind, but I added your URL to my links page under
Faction Links.

Thanks for helping to keep the factions and FK alive and well!

Subject: Forever Knight Fanhistory.com wiki instructions

At the request of the Fan History wiki owners, I've put together an
instruction page on the Forever Knight section of the wiki:

http://www.fanhistory.com/index.php/Help:Forever_Knight

It's not quite point and click, but it should help you figure out how
to do what you want to do. This will tell you how to add yourself as
a fan, add you website, add your fiction, etc.

As I get more of the templates done (actors, characters, etc.),
they'll show up on the wiki help page. And if you need help or have
a question, don't hesitate to ask.

Thank you very much. I wonder why we don't see any more faction pages since
there are so many of them.
