So, I was doing some "spring cleaning" and ran across this (one of many,
many printed pages):
TUESDAY, JULY 30th

YOU WANT ME TO WEAR WHAT?
by Sherri Campbell
Time: 2:00am
Place: the old church

Vachon's muffled voice came through the door: "Are you sure this is
necessary?" He sounded dubious....

And no wonder, dear FORKNI-ers, because the Vaqueros stuck poor, addled--
erm, I mean, adorable ... uh, no, that's not it either ... shall we just
leave it at "infinitely patient"? Yes, they stuck poor, infinitely patient
Vachon in a cow costume. Or, as Barney Stinson would say, "Cow suit up!"

Really?

No, not really. No, thankfully, that came later, much later. This time it
was merely Spandex<tm> - an outfit designed to lure an unsuspecting
illustrated cousin to her doom. Doom, I say! DOOM!

And the year was ... 1996. The things we did to our favorite characters and
list mates out of love and a twisted sense of humor. My first war. Man,
can it possibly have been that long ago? Seems like only yesterday I was
sleeping on a dingy couch in a dusty basement, with more than just vampires
out for my blood. I still have scars from that.... Ah, good times!

Well, I just wanted to share that - it caught me completely by surprise when
I opened up that notebook, expecting to find ... well, I honestly didn't
know what I'd find, but I certainly wouldn't have guessed old war stories.

Anyone feel like reminiscing?

Bonnie, betrayer of men-- erm, vampire
Once-ardent Vaquero, now Cousinly Receptionist, still not-the-llama

(WAVES AT BONNIE!!!!! I have been thinking of you the past few days!!!)

You mean like the first time we met Greg Kramer and he ran through
the bar with the Ratsie Wot Kilt Screed by the tail saying with glee,
"This rat killed me off Forever Knight!"

I actually had a cameo in a war before I was involved in on-line
FK fandom. A fan I'd met at a sci fi convention e-mailed me to ask if
she could use me in a brief scene. Very brief - I think I just walked
into a bar with Screed or some such<wRPg>

I think one of my War highlights was the War where I was put on
trail. We got Greg's permission for him to actually make an
appearance along with Screed. I don't remember much else but I'd love
to re-read those scenes sometime<g>

Or the War where there were alternate versions of the characters.

   Here's a non-war memory: Probably about 9 or 10 years ago, I got
my boss hooked on FK. He apparently was looking for some of my fan
fic as he came into the office one day with a huge grin. He said, "I
found some of your Forever Knight stories..."

"Uh-oh" (I just knew they were JADFE stories)

   "Screed's Big Adventure"

*BLUSH* "Uh, yeah..." (Yep, JADFE stories - if you knew my boss,
you'd think he was a very straight-laced accountant stereotype)

"And the sequel... Screed does something Again."

"Yep."

   "What did he do again?"

"If you think I'm going to say that to my boss in the office, you're crazy."

He was very amused. I'm not even sure I can repeat the title of the
sequel here!

Good heavens!! 1996???? Um... wow. I remember that war...
vaguely. I was so tired by the end of it, my boss asked if I was
coming down with something.

Still here, lurking.

Subject: Help with the Forever Knight Fan History wiki pages

There's a bunch of places on the fanhistory.com wiki that need
Forever Knight information. And it's easy to add info - you just
find the page, click edit, and add the info.

Here are some of the pages.

Forever Knight - the show and the fandom:
http://www.fanhistory.com/index.php/Forever_Knight

Forever Knight Fanzines
http://www.fanhistory.com/index.php/Forever_Knight_fanzines

Forever Knight FanFiction Archives

FKFic-L
http://www.fanhistory.com/index.php/FKFIC-L%40LISTS.PSU.EDU

JADFE
http://www.fanhistory.com/index.php/JADFE

I didn't see a page for the Virtual Fourth Season or the FKFic-L
Wars. Or for that matter, Ger, John, Nigel's, or Deb's clubs. Or
for the many convention events and auctions that were held. Or even
the factions, for that matter.

If you know something or have some information, start or edit a page.
If you have an FK fan fiction archive - add a link.

This isn't my project by the way - this is someone else's huge
endeavor. But as Forever Knight was one of the first online fandoms,
I thought it would be nice to get our history up there. Who's gonna
teach the lil children about Bo Diddley, after all?

Have fun. And if you have any questions, you know where to find me.

1996 was when I first came on the net (I got on at work. My boss then
didn't care). FORKNI was my first group and Cousin Jules was one of my
first friend on the net. She's the one who encouraged me to write. I
remember so many of your names. I went to a party here at Heather's and met
Illinois Jules and got wear LaCroix's cape.
