It went me, Laurie Salopek, Jamie Randell, and then McLisa, woo. And Darlin' Don Fasig's been with us since I think Laurie's tenure. Stand up and take a bow, Don! (And I haven't gone by 'Jeanster' since, oh, 1994. ;) ) > Yep, in fact I posted some of that fic. Then, IIRC, Jean got complaints from people who weren't interested in fanfic and that's how FKfic-l came into existence. > Yep, that's exactly how it came about. It was never 'omg, this stinks!', but mostly 'omg, my mailbox is exploding!' or the perfectly understandable sentiment that not everyone likes reading fanfic, and they kept missing the actual discussion for the fanfic. Forest and trees! o/~ There was unrest in the forest, trouble with the trees... o/~ (What? Can't I quote a Canadian band based in Toronto on a mailing list devoted to a TV show set in Toronto? ;) ) > I still have mine somewhere in the stuff that's still boxed in the basement 7 years after I moved. :) > I still have the first-ever FKFIC-L fanzine, Forever Net #1, since it was the only one I wrote for. Somewhere in one of the boxes in my closet is a little notebook I originally wrote the 'founder' emails into, but I haven't trotted that out in years. Ahhh, a remembrance of the heady days, when the internet was all fresh and new, where respect was the general rule rather than the exception, when NB himself read the list and very infrequently posted. Y'all make me so proud sometimes, how this list has survived and kept its ideals of respect and topic intact. Anyone got a Kleenex?!?
