A letter writing campaign would be great. Should we organize? Could it
work? I'd be willing. Anything to get it back on to bring in new fans.

Sci-Fi owned (does it still?) the rights to reair FK. Since both Sci-Fi and
Chiller have the same parent company I think the chances are quite good that
FK will eventually end up on Chiller.

Roxana

Fingers crossed. So should we write letters?

Doesn't Sony own FK now? And James Parriott? Does anyone know who owns
Chiller? And is my forlorn hope a possibility?

I just looked at the SciFi Channel's website and they no longer have a show
page for Forever Knight.
So my guess is that they gave up their airing rights to FK. Unfortunately
that doesn't mean that the
airing rights are available. Too often networks buy the rights to a show
and then don't air it. The whole
Classic Star Trek on TVLand thing last year is a good example of that.

It sounds like getting FK on Chiller would have to be a two pronged attack.
We would have to convince
Chiller that FK is worth carrying and then we would have to convince the
various cable companies to
pick Chiller up so that lots of fans could see it.

And awakened one morning to find LaCroix in his

Now exiting Lurkdom...

So, I was watching Ashes to Ashes this morning and had some thoughts I wanted
to share.? I know, I know, the episode discussion for this one is still in the
distant future, but my thoughts concern the whole of the series, not just this
 ep.

Anyway, I was thinking about how everyone says that Nick is Lacroix's favorite;
but why is that?? In Lacroix's mind, Nick has continually disappointed him.?
He shuns his vampire nature, strives to be good, and is constantly trying to get
away from Lacroix.? Wouldn't you think that at some point Lacroix would just
say "forget it"?? Then you look at Divia.? Lacroix could not stand to see so
much evil in his own daughter, so much so that he killed her (well, tried to,
anyway).? Perhaps Nick is the backlash of that conflict.? Lacroix, trying so
desperately to escape the guilt of what he had done, creates a son who is the
complete opposite of his daughter.? Did Lacroix see the inherent goodness in Nick??
Was this, perhaps, the reason he has held onto him so tightly over the years?? I
 think Lacroix is secretly thrilled that Nick is constantly seeking the light;
not that he would ever admit it...

Maybe he even created Nick to be a force that would keep himself in check, so
that he might never become as evil as Divia was.? "Even I have my limits" he
said, but after so much time, one would think things like limits would eventually
disappear.? Unless, of course, you have someone like Nick around who is?a
 constant source of good.

Therefore, the only thing to which Lacroix really objects, is Nick becoming
human.? As long as Nick remains?a vampire he can try to do good or reach for the
light, or whatever, and Lacroix won't say a word (or not very loudly, anyway,
 and then only for show).

Thoughts?? Comments?

OK, back to lurking...

Cousin Parker . . . was watching Ashes to
Ashes . . .
I was thinking about how everyone says that Nick is Lacroix's favorite; but
why is that??

Lacroix . . . creates a son who is the complete opposite of his daughter
. . .

Maybe he even created Nick to be a force that would keep himself in check
. . .

It's an interesting thought, and certainly a valid interpretation.

Whatever his relationship with Divia was, LaCroix couldn't control
her. He apparently has better luck with Nick. Nick wouldn't rebel that way
anyway, unlike Divia, Nick wanted salvation not revenge.
I think, however, LaCroix picked Nick because he thought he could
control Nick, unlike Divia over whom he apparently had no control.

LaCroix's motivation for keeping Nick in line is that if Nick succeeded
in his quest that that would mean that LaCroix's vision and version of
things was wrong. So, LaCroix has to continuously put, keep, knock Nick and
his efforts down. As long as he can do that, LaCroix can feel in control
and that *his* decision to come over to the darkside was the right one.

Therefore he can't let Nick succeed at anything. -- Has Nick ever had a
love that LaCroix hasn't screwed up? Maybe Nick is right to keep Natalie
out of the loop.  ;->

It's not so much that Nick is LaCroix's favorite as it is that LaCroix
has a vested invested in keeping Nick under his thumb.

And, the difference between Nick and Divia is that if Divia succeeded,
everyone would have died. If Nick succeeds, he'd share his success - he'd
probably even try to convince LaCroix that to take the "cure".
