Back on the 4th, whilst I was flying to Heathrow, the captain got on the
horn and announced, "We're now flying over Toronto. If you'd care to
set your watches for London time, the time is currently 12.28am."

The passengers nearest me didn't understand why I snickered.

I probably should've posted this weeks ago, but theatrics got in the way.

PN (Pat) Elrod (co-author with Nigel) and I are both guests this weekend at
FenCon in Dallas. They are keeping me busy on numerous panels, so I won't be
hard to find. Pat and I will be doing a "Stargate" panel Friday night at 10 p.m.
 (unless the schedule changes).

If you are there, please come up, mention FK and say "hi!" We both love
attention (free meals, being asked for our autographs, and all that sort of stuff)....

A couple weeks ago, I was coming back from Austin picking up my pickup truck,
when on the side of the road in a little town junkyard/garage I saw the most
beautiful thing. I clearly saw a 1962 Caddy in real good shape peering at me from
behind a couple of bushes as we sped down the highway. What even got me
giggling was the color. I don't think Nick would've sold his car...

Of course when my dad asked me what was so funny, I had told him what I had
just seen and only mentioned Nick Knight's name. He didn't need any further
 explanation.

I have a blonde, blue-eyed friend named Bill Knight. He came over for dinner
the other night. I had a previously opened bottle of red wine that he said he
pour out for us. Mind you, he doesn't watch FK, and hasn't ever done this
before - but he pulled the cork out with his teeth and spit it on the counter!!!
He then has no idea why I burst out laughing!

They did sell off a lot of props when the show ended, including the car. In
fact, I think there was more than one caddy. So, for all we know, it
*could* have been Nick's actual caddy!

Obviously, it's time to introduce him to the show!

Even paranoids have enemies. Those are the people they trust.

You forgot, Sept 19 is also International Talk Like A Pirate
Day<http://www.talklikeapirate.com/piratehome.html>!
Not to mention Hermione Granger's birthday. (And yes, someone has already
written and recorded a
filksong<http://www.tomsmithonline.com/freestuff/oddio/iT008_192.mp3>connecting
the two) :D

Just thought you might like to add it to the list for next year....

Man, I am *so* jealous. I keep reading about these Cons, and I've never
been anywhere near one. There was a big Stargate con in England a couple of
years back; now I live there (here!) permanently, hopefully now I'll get the
chance.

Have a great time, Libs!
