ROFL! Somewhere around here, I think I still have "Nick the Brick," a party
favor from a long-ago Chicago get-together of FK fans. He was made of soft
foam, cut into a brick shape and painted red, with a face on the side
complete with glued-on googly-eyes and fangs of white felt. Designed
specifically for bouncing harmlessly off the TV screen whenever anyone had
the urge to throw something at Nick for being so clueless about women. Ah,
the scripts, the honeysticks, Janette's cloak whose armholes were so small
my bicep would have to be surgically removed to fit into it....
In all seriousness, this is also one of my very favorite episodes. (Of

Yup, unique, and yet so logical as to be inevitable. Hmm...wonder when that
cute new Toronto ME on Blood Ties has her birthday? And did her predecessor
drop any hints?
As for Roger not picking Nat randomly, it is a good theory, but I don't

I remember this theory floating around the first time around, amidst a
healthy dose of griping about That Damned Garden Hose. (Do they really
think having Natalie bump into Roger and comment that she's "so clumsy" is
properly setting up Natalie tripping on something in plain sight?) I agree
that Natalie might well have done some sort of initial questionaire, maybe
filled out at a mall or a party, and then changed her mind before ever
actually making a video. If it were a few years later, we could have
speculated about her filling out an "online personality quiz" during the
small hours of a slow day at work....
