So often in shows, the intelligent, capable women who should know better end up falling for guys who seem psycho from the start, and that bothers me to no end. I thought the lingerie was probably meant as a gag gift, like they're purposely giving sexy lingerie to a woman they know isn't getting any to be ironic. Then it's sad 'cause the gag backfires and she feels bad after receiving it, but no-one seems to notice :-( . I didn't care much for the detached, almost feral-acting Nick, 'cause he seemed to function well enough in the human world in most of his flashbacks. Why would he suddenly revert to such a state during this particular "lifetime"? In regards to the Twinkie with Candles thing... I assumed when I heard that line that a Twinkie in Canada was different than a Twinkie in the US. You know, like Smarties. In Canada Smarties are candy coated chocolate pieces on the order of M&M's. In the US Smarties are those little sweet tart tablets that come in sets of about 20 in a cellophane twist. Do they even get Hostess snack cakes in Canada? If they do, the folks that made FK could have had some fun with one of those coconut covered cake balls with the raspberry jelly on the inside. It would have been a great sight gag. Vampire snack cake.... After all that healing, I'm sure the vampire in him wanted blood and wanted it now!! *grin* Phylis I didn't care much for the detached, almost feral-acting Nick, 'cause he seemed to function well enough in the human world in most of his flashbacks. There's just something so *alien* about Nick during that scene. < Am I mistaken or does Nick have a different accent in that scene than usually? It sounds to me that way and it shows that he probably didn't have much contact with mortals during his stay in Toronto so far. Then, later as a cop he adapted his accent to blend in. 2. I like the gesture when Nick buys the flowers and hands one to the sales lady. Although in Natalie's case, I'd be quite annoyed if someone gave me a bouquet of flowers with one blossom missing. 3. Funny incident I had with this episode: It took me years until I realized that this was the nice Peter Axon from PSI-Factor. He's so very different here. 4. I sometimes use this episode to introduce new people to the show.
