Howdy all :)
I've got a story in the works and would like to know
if anyone has the time to proof it? It will probably
be about fifteen to twenty pages. Anyone, anyone?

Subject: Episode Discussion: Hunters

1) "Donut" Don as Schanke's nickname with the Vice cops. Funny and
appropriate. Honestly, only in TV would such a nickname be discovered
so late. In real life, it would have followed Don from the Vice group.

2) it was a nice touch that Stonetree comes up to Schanke and hungs him
without any trace of discomfort. It feels "correct" in the situation
and moment.

3) the way Stonetree lets Nick and Schanke work on the homicide of
Schanke's ex-partner was nicely handled. Stonetree understands why
Schanke emotionally needs to be involved, but insists that things be "by
the book" so none of the 3 of them end up in trouble.

4) what makes anyone thinks a cabin that Schanke owns is safe for his
wife and kid? They don't know who is chasing Schanke or why. Why
wouldn't a hired killer have not already gone through Schanke's mail or
home office to figure out that he owns a cabin in the woods and where???

5) one of LaCroix most ruthless moments when he tells Nick to leave
Janette in the forest to die instead of going back to help her.

6) want to make Schanke calm down....feed him. He is a multi-ethnic
gourmand.

7) after Maya (the vampiress who nearly bit him earlier on in the
season)...you'd think Schanke would be more uncomfortable to be staying
at the Raven with its "unusual" clientel.

8) it is a nice touch the way Natalie picks up Nick's phone and puts it
to his ear when Schanke calls. A simple gesture, but it speaks volumes
for how comfortable she is with Nick and he is with her.

9) amusing that the Raven's basement has a coffin and "hanging cabinets"
for vampire guests to spend the day. Anyone got a guess as to where
"non-fetish" visiters stay??? Has a floorplan of the Raven building
ever been revealed? I've always just guessed that Janette/LaCroix's
apartment was either over the main dancefloor or behind it where the
"private party" rooms are.

10) Janette correcting Schanke's mispronouciation of her name was
amusing - as was her glazed lok at Schanke's "man of action" statement.
Also fun was the double-meaning of much of her replies to Schanke while
they are talking. Is it me...or did those two never have a "straight"
conversation in the show. Janette seemed to delight in "skating along
the edge" when talking with Schanke.

11) Guesses? Is Larry Merlin a vampire or someone like Natalie...a
trusted human who has a talent the Community needs so his knowledge of
vampires is tolerated?

12) Janette's look of disgust when Schanke crosses himself in front of
her is amusing.

13) when Schanke commandeers a car...he gets something appropriate.
That tank could probably sleep as many vampires as Nick's Caddy.

Yes, I would like to slow down a bit as I need at
least 10 days to be able to watch then find time to
discuss the episode; I'd prefer two weeks. Anyone
else?

For this "virtual syndication", I've been doing an episode a
week as if the show was still being shown over the air.
I've been scheduling for Tuesday so everyone has a weekend to
spend watching the "broadcast of the week".
I personally like this because it means I do not forget to
watch. If it is Sunday or Monday evening, I know Ineed/want to spend 45
minutes and watch the next episode if I have not already.
There are more than 52 episodes in all three seasons.
Doing one a week, it will take us more than a year to
"rebroadcast" them all.

All that said, if folks think slowing down means more would
participate, I have no objection.

Two weeks would be great for me. I'm still working on my remarks to Tim's
observations from "Fatal Mistake" and some additional ones of my own.

Ever since I started thowing in my 2 cents into the episode discussions I've
unfortunately been making them after the week designated for the episode.

Two a month (every other week) would work better for
me due to my demanding work schedule.

As did I. I even tripple checked after reading Tim's post to the list and
was pleased to find I hadn't forgotten! LOL!!! Also, does anyone notice just
how quickly Schanke seems to disappear from the news stand where he gets his
magazine and then gets to the old obstacle course?
