I really like the new design!=0ABtw, what will happen to the "fkfanfic2"-site?
Will all the stories remain there or will it archived on "fkfanfic" as well?
Sorry, if I missed something.

*looks at her model* Well, I've got the stunt car then
lol. '62 series 62.

I need to figure a way to scan it...the rendering of
the car on the package is colored almost the same as
Nick's on the show.

I wish I could've gotten down there to see the car.
How'd you ever get it, if you don't mind telling?

Mel (the other one...I wonder how we're gonna do this.
I could use Mel M but it might still confuse people
since my and the other Mel's last names both start
with M.)

I remember hearing that the reason why Vachon and Tracy were brought in was for
more sex appeal. I do not think Tracy tops Janette in any way, nor do I even
find her attractive. This is after watching it first when I was just entering
university and now when I am 30.

And Vachon looks like a little boy in the first few eps of season three. He
has those bug eyes going on. I don't see what appeal his character added.

Finally, I don't get the changes to the Raven. What on earth were the
producers of this show thinking? Were the producers trying to kill the show?

Now, I am going to confess and say that my fav character on the show was
Schanke. And LaCroix comes up second for me. The opposite was true for me
about ten years ago, but those two character still made the show for me.

I ask these questions as I watch through season 3 wondering why. My fav ep is
still Last Act. And that hasn't changed. That ep really caught me, and I
watched the show non-stop after that.

It's interesting how my perspective has changed a bit through the years. I used
to find Vachon to be relatively unappealing (not unattractive, but he just
didn't connect). But now, I think I'm getting a glimmer of what the Vaqs have
been on about all this time.

As for Tracy's role, I suspect one factor was that they might have wanted to
steer away from Nick's new partner having any resemblance to Schanke; so they
decided on a young, attractive female rookie detective to replace a mature,
male, experienced detective. Look at what they did with the captains, after
all:
an older, old-fashioned male Native captain is replaced by a middle-aged,
management-oriented female Asian captain (with a Jewish name), who is then
replaced by an older, "cop-culture" Black captain, who seems to be an immigrant
from the U.S.

Your humble & obedient servant,
Angela Gottfred

Chaqu'un à son goût - each to his own taste!

One of the most special things about our wonderful FK Family is how we can
all be so different and love so many different things, and still be so
close.

"Forever Knight" surely gives us many different things to love. I don't
believe I've ever seen a show that was so vastly different from season to
season. And with the show's lacking of any continuity concerning vampire
legend from episode to episode, there's always surprises for everyone.

The episode that snagged me was "Feeding the Beast." A vampire pretending
to join AA while secretly living each moment fighting another unthought-of
addiction was... well... addicting.

And as much as Nick's angst-filled nights caused me to think deeply about a
wide spectrum of moral issues, it's impossible to watch FK and not wonder
what it's like to be one of them. I believe that same thought must have
consumed more than one of Natalie's long shifts in the morgue. Immortality.
I don't think I would like it, honestly - as tempting as it is. And
temptation permeates FK in so many incarnations.

The trinity of LaCroix, Janette, and Nick lived by the vampire "code" as
watched over by the Enforcers for hundreds and hundreds of years. If I were
immortal, I think that having to follow rules would begin to lose its hold
on me. And in my own life, I never ran with scissors; I never broke my
crayons; I never once lost my homework. The secret yearnings inside of me
are to break free from worrying about rules and expectations and behaving
myself and just for once do what I want and damn the consequences. Perhaps
that's why I'm drawn to Vachon - he lives in a way that I both fear and long
to live.

Also, I believe that Ben Bass has the most gorgeous eyes I've ever seen.

Respectfully,
Marilyn

My understanding is that a number of the changes season 2 to 3
were for sex appeal. Ger apparently threatened that he would quit if
they removed Natalie, which was also planned. He backed them down, but
realized there was a limit to what he could threaten when they then
decided to get ride of Janette.
I like Janette. I've said before that anyone who doesn't
consider her a sexy woman is completely blind or totally, completely,
undead dead. Her voice alone purring "Mr. Schanke" has more sex appeal
than most actresses could manage with their tops off.
That said, I also like Tracy a lot. I consider her attractive.
I thought it did open up some interesting story ideas to have Nick's
partner now be this somewhat green detective who has the added
complications of being a police commissioner's daughter and knowing that
vampires exist, although she doesn't know her partner is one.

>And Vachon looks like a little boy in the first few eps of season

Well, a lot of women find him handsome.
If you are adding a vampire character for Tracy to interact
with, why not have it be another male? Vachon is a different person
than Nick or LaCroix. He does provide for alternative viewpoints in the
3rd season stories.

>Finally, I don't get the changes to the Raven. What on earth were the

The Raven was a common location in the show. Once you've
removed Janette, having LaCroix move in and run the bar and do his radio
broadcasts from there, keeps The Raven in the loop and makes it easier
to have LaCroix in every show despite having added in a few new vampire
characters.

There was a slight threat about Natalie, but I felt she a huge part of the
show and Nick's life; she was needed for the balance. Tracey's character in
my opinion was so bad, I can see why the show failed; she only added the
fact that she was the comissioners daughter and she can do the job, not.
Vachon was okay, no thrills there except when he and Nick were together
needling each other. LaCrooix, my favorite, I thought him running the bar
and the radio show gave him the human appearance look and also was able to
be close to Nick, but Janette, she was okay; and Schanke was great with Nick
and LaCroix, the best comedy trio ever; my opinions only.

 Right there with you! :)

I liked FK the first two seasons, I LOVED it when Vachon showed up! But then
I've always been a sucker for a bad boy! :)

Hugs,
Ren
