I'm in Germany. When I ordered season 1 from amazon.ca there was no
additional tax, but I had to pay quite a lot for season two, which I ordered at
amazon.com.
So naturally I chose amazon.ca for season 3 and hope there will be no
additional charge again.

They said it's going to be shipped on Oct. 3, but it will arrive here between
November 15-29! Sigh...

Custom Charges are weird... I think that they should be used solely as a weapon
of destruction during fictional wars.... they already sound like they're out
for blood.

I can see it now! Janette has been shipping in blood
from California (dude, it's the experiences, you
know?), and has run afoul of a customs agent. And they
thought Hunters were bad...

Oh ya, I'm sure alright because that's how much I got stung for Season Two
and a friend got stung for Season One! I think the Inland Revenue are
tightening up all over the U.K, as before unless it was something *HUGE*
they didn't used to bother much down here in my neck of the woods. Times
have changed now and internet shopping is such a common thing, the IR and
Post Office are more aware of tax etc to be gained! But maybe I might get
lucky.

To Petra - I didn't think about ordering S3 from Amazon.ca. Mind you, the
same in tax is supposed to be applied from Canadiam imports as well.

Know you know why I no longer buy from Amazon.com! The UK Customs/Post
Office caught on a few years ago to the fact that a boxed set is usually
worth more than £20 (UK lower limit for them to apply tax), and Amazon
kindly send all their stuff out in boxes loudly labelled "Amazon", which
means they can easily spot them and sort out the books from the DVDs for tax
purposes - and paying 17.5% tax *plus* a £4.00 'handling fee' from the Post
Office added nearly 50% to the cost of Season One for me!

My best friend recommended using either Play.com, who ship in via a European
hub in Belgium, and so have no tax duties payable on their stuff, or the
Canadian site DVD Box Office, www.dvdboxoffice.com/ - easiest way to find it
is to use the search engine, under 'DVD' and 'Forever Knight' - it's
$57.95CAD, which includes world wide shipping, and works out around £28-29
at current exchange rates - and she tells me she's ordered loads of stuff
from them and never had to pay customs duties!

Subject: Yuletide Awards!

Sheesh! Can you believe there's only 12 weeks until Christmas? Where
did the year go?
Yes kids, it's that time again. Time for the annual Dark Nick/Nat
Yuletide Awards. I'm giving ya'll THREE MONTHS to put something
together this time, so I want to see LOTS of stories this year!
 So, here's the rules:

 1. All stories MUST be DarkNN. In other words, it must fit the
description of DarkNN as found on the DarkNN group site:"...exploring
the 'darker' sides of the Nick and Nat relationship. For Nick, his
dark side could include his vampiric nature and his aggressive side.
For Nat, her dark side could be her attraction to a vampire and
possibly her desire to become one." Please note that this contest is
for Nick and Nat stories, meaning that they are in love with each
other and the ultimate goal is to get them together. HOW they get
there is up to you.

2. Stories can be either adult in nature or not, but if it is adult,
it MUST be labeled so in the subject line! Only 2 stories per
category, per entrant.

3. There are certain criteria that must be met. For the contest, each
story MUST contain the listed criteria on that year's page.

4. All stories MUST be posted by midnight Pacific time ('cause that's
where I am!) on the day specified. Voting will be open for a limited
number of days, after which the winners will be announced.

5. All entries should be sent to Stacy at
theknightcallsmyname@y....... as either plain text files or as
regular emails, divided into as many parts as necessary. If sending
the story in parts, please note how many parts there are to ensure
that the entire story is received.

This year's criteria is much simpler than previous year's:

 1. Stories must be set at Christmas time.

 2. Either Nick or Nat, or both, have to meet the REAL Santa Claus
(whether they know it's him or not is up to you).

 3. There must be a big feast involved somewhere, with Nick and Nat
in attendance (whether Nick eats or not is up to you).

 Have fun, and good luck!

Okay I've just had an FK Moment. I turn on the History Channel and to
my surprise the show that is on is all about the Knights Templar

I expecting to see a FK flashback of Nick as a Knight like Queen Of Harps
