I'm jealous! I ordered mine on July 26, right after the release was
announced, but Amazon estimates my delivery time to be Oct. 11 - 13!
I would have thought they'd mail them out so that they arrived nearer
to the release date. <sigh> Well, congratulations, both of you!

I ordered mine through Barnes & Nobel (on-line) Friday and it still says
shipping Tuesday.

However, I got a GREAT deal! 10% off the recommended price, 10% off for having
one of their discount book cards plus an additional 15% off from an on-line
coupon I received for having one of the discount book cards.

  Yes!!!!

Just think, when this arrives and can freeze-frame Screed/Greg Kramer and
throw paperwads at him! (Huh? Why are ya looking at me like that. To have
paperwads thrown at you by a Ratpacker is an honor - because we are capable of throwing
worse things.... hehehehehe)

Scene: The main hall of the Field Museum in Chicago, the one with the two giant
elephants and the Tyranosaurus Rex skeleton.

Time: About 2:30 Saturday afternoon.

I was waiting for the rest of my group from Indianapolis to get back together
after seeing the Tutankhamun exhibit, when for just a moment I thought Janette
had come into the museum. I don't know why a tall brunette in a gorgeous
dark-red evening gown came into the building, stood there looking around and went back
out. She didn't really look that much like Janette, I decided as I stared. (Her
back was to me at the time) For one thing, she was very tanned. But just for a
moment, given the many FK associations to Chicago, and Nick's tendency to get
involved with museums, I did think about FK.

What a pity it was broad daylight! I could just imagine Nick's having whammied
his way into working with the King Tut stuff because he thought there might be
a cure in it, and Janette's coming to warn him that a displeased LC was on the
way. :)

Thanks for the reminder, Viv! And apologies to our Jewish listmembers, because
I forgot to wish everyone L' shanah tova on Rosh Hashanah last week.

I would prefer Jan.-Feb., myself, although I'm not sure I'll be able to play.

I have to wait until November 2nd for mine (my 15th wedding anniversary
BTW!) and if it comes direct from the US, rather than via the European
Amazon.com sorting area, there's be a huge import tax to pay (17.5%!!) and a
post office charge for said tax as well!

Subject: FK Moment

Last night I was channel surfing and I came across what, at first
glance, I thought was FK! I was like "It's on!?!?!" It was one of
the high number digital channels, so I stopped.
Turned out it was 'Queer as Folk'. They were using the Fluid Lounge
as the facade for the club (starts with a 'B' - can't think right now)
I knew QaF was filmed in TO, I had just never noticed the locations
before.
It was on Logo, so all the "good" scenes were cut. It was kind of
weird watching it though because scenes would end so abrubtly and
they'd cut away. <g>

As an amazon.com employee, I can tell you that there are a number of
factors that play into how long it will be before your order is
shipped. Stock availability and backlog of orders (our FC backlog is
down to less than 30,000, but others may be much higher, so it
depends on which FC yours is shipped from), just to name two.
Most of the time I just pack them, so I don't usually get to see who
they are actually shipped to (that's a different area of our
department). It'd be interesting to see if I recognized any of the
names they're going out to. I've just been impressed with the number
of FK orders I've seen in the last few days. Hopefully I'll get to
get it for my birthday, which is two weeks from today.

Are you sure Heather??? I'm in Southern Ireland and when I ordered the other
seasons there was no additional charge after I paid for the dvd and the original
carriage charged by the shipper.
