I have a *horrible* time realizing what I think of as common knowledge isn't. I do think what Aviva found about the hermeticists helps the Light/Sun theory. Hmm. I just took a quick look through my copy of the Book of the Dead, and I did see some pics of Re, the sun god, carrying an ahnk. But he wasn't the only one. I saw one pic of Hathor carrying an ahnk, another god I can't remember, and rows of gods, each carrying or with an ahnk. Sometimes Re was part of the row, sometimes not. But this is _really_ getting nitpiky, even for me. In any case, I'd say that ahnks fit as Light/Sun symbols. One scene I would have loved to have seen is the first time a cross burned LC. Regardless of why they burn vamps, it still must have come as a big surprise. Just think of the blow to his ego. Gods couldn't destroy him, but two sticks of wood could! {snicker} Hugs and Kisses, Liz the Lucky lizthelucky@c....... http://www.lizthelucky.com/ForeverKnight/ Merc House Mommy ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 8 Aug 2006 14:53:08 -0700 From: Aviva Blumenthal <viv11374@y......> Subject: Re: Episode discussion: For I Have Sinned-- new question --- Liz the Lucky <lizthelucky@c.......> wrote: > Mary said: > > Ah, but Liz is describing true history that > requires some knowledge and/or > > research > > This is true, and I have to admit it's one of my > weaknesses. As a writer, you know that if you don't hurt your characters in some way, then it makes for a boring story. With some sort of pain, characters can't develop. (I'm picturing LaCroix raising an eyebrow, "I'm much too old and powerful to develop."<g>) LaCroix has already been hurt many times. The flaming stake through his heart and having the disease (in Fever) come immediately to mind. Besides, as has been shown in episodes, he's already been hurt by crosses as they do affect him. --Libs Cheryl <fknight420@c.......> wrote: That would be interesting, but I, personally, don't want to see LaCroix hurt. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 9 Aug 2006 11:26:00 EDT From: Judith Lieberman <JudithL21@a.......> Subject: kylie coleman-tucker address Kylie; if you are out there, I lost your address. I guess I always sort of figured they could fly, in general, as fast as something like a glider/hang glider and go faster than a car. In one of my fics, I had vampires able to fly from Seattle to Portland, OR in an hour or so, and it is a 3.5 hour car/train ride, which puts them at about 150MPH. --- Debbie Clarke <dittany121@h.......> wrote: > I've often wondered that myself.
