I always saw Natalie's expression as one of sadness mixed with longing.
The difference between Natalie and Alyce is that Natalie knows what she's
dealing with and what she can have and what she can't have.

Nick said he kissed Alyce and then he nearly killed her.

Hi Al

Coming out of lurkdom to reportl

Just to let you know in the Aug edition of Scifi mag they have an article on
Blade. As part of the article there is a side bar called Blood Brothers. Go
Batty looking back at the 13 top Boob-Tube bloodsuckers of the past four
decades.

So who was one of the 13 you guessed it Nick Knight. Actually, they had 6
pictures and our vampire was on of the six along with Grandpa Munster,
Barnabas,
Von Count, Dukula, Knight and Angel.

Under Nick Knight (1992)
"Geraint Wyn Davies was a nice vampire, trying to atone for lifetimes of
badness by being a cop. Al least Nigel Bennet as Lacroix was around to remind
people that vampirism might be wickedly fun."

This is on page 41 of the mag which is on newsstand now.

Boy did I crack up reading this.

to a woman around Natalie. Did any one else get that feeling or am I
watching the wrong Nick LOL

Judging by the pained look on Natalie's face, it is the first time
he's talked to her about reacting to someone (at least someone who
Natalie recognizes as a contemporary and thus a possible competitor)

It is clear from her reaction that Natalie hoped she'd be the one he
was kissing.

Putting aside for a minute that Dark Knight was the beginning of a series,
do you think LaCroix really intended to decapitate Nick or was he just
trying to get some kind of reaction from him.

Judging from the way 1st season Lacroix keeps torturing Nick, I wouldn't
rule it out. It is, after all, the ultimate way of making sure Nick
remains his.

Didn't LaCroix say "What is it gonna take to get a reaction from
you?"???
or am I remembering a line that was only in Nick Knight,
not Dark Knight???

I've always felt that LaCroix was trying to provoke Nick into
"vamping out" ...not really kill him.
I think he would have stopped just short of decapitation.
I believe this is part of the reason that LaCroix smiles at the
end of the scene when he is hanging on the stakes. He managed to find
something that shook Nick deeply enough that he abandoned his humanity
and "reverted" to being a vampire.

You're remembering pretty well--In DK LC says "What's it gonna take to get a
*rise* out of you?" which is a better line considering the way Nick flies up
off the floor, his instincts taking over when his life seems to be truly
threatened.

I hug and kiss strangers all the time, because I treat people like family,
everyone. Famous or not; everyone. I love the spirit of people not the
package. It may sound weird but I lost a friend 25 years ago and my friends
and I regretted the fact we never told him how we felt about him. We vowed
then and still do to this day, we tell people, family, friends, and
strangers how we feel and care for them as family.
Nick's fear was being too close, including Nat and Aylce. Nick and Alyce
would have been fine in love but his fear would have won in the end.

My opinion, a reaction; LaCroix cares for Nick too to much let him go.
