Subject: Proposal - Dark Knight 1 & 2: Discussion

Since I haven't heard from anyone I would like to
propose that we start from the beginning with the
pilot episodes. Would anyone be interested in a
discussion on June 30? That would give us 3 weeks to
watch and review the episodes.

Yeah, nay?

Sounds good to me.
Do Don and Lisa maybe want to treat this kinda like a war or
something? I guess we can see what kind of traffic this creates -
see how the first discussion goes and take it from there, huh?

And the problem with lots of traffic would be....? Seeing how quiet this
list is of late compared to the 50+ a day it used to have when I joined, I
don't see that episode discussions are going to cause difficulties. Though
it would be nice if we were that lively once again!

Um, how about both...or neither!

It had its moments, but didn't quite hit its stride, I think. Not a British
Buffy, though, very different in tone. It was a fairly good (ouch - damning
with faint praise!) creepy drama, of which I watched all the first series
and most of the second. The TV channel then kept moving it around in the
schedules and I never saw the end - it was cancelled because the viewing
figures dropped and it was quite expensive to produce.

Subject: Ashes to Ashes - dialogue?

Hey -
OMG, I am actually working on a story that might get finished
relatively soon.

Anyhoo, does anyone know the dialogue from the scene where Divia
calls into Nightwatch?
I don't necessarily need exact quotes (although that would be great)
but I can't remember any details before

"Shouldn't all good little girls be asleep?"
"But I'm not a good little girl."
(or something along those lines)

Or where can I find a transcript.

I just really don't feel like getting out the tape, finding the right
spot, etc.
Man I wish season 3 was out on dvd, that would be so much easier to
queue up.

THanks!

Divia: Hello Lucius. It's been a very long time.

LaCroix: Shouldn't all good little girls be in bed by this time?

Divia: But I'm not that kind of girl. You know that. Do you know what its
like to be betrayed by your own child, to be left alone in the
darkness? Hmmm, I didn't think so. But you will know soon enough, as
your friends die, and the fear of death drives those still alive away
from you. Then you'll understand how it feels to be betrayed...and
alone.

Hope this helps!

Thank you!! Man, that will definitely fit my story. I vaguely
remembered little bits, but now I'm happy.

The story is just a little ditty, nothing major, which is why it is
getting done so quickly.

Look, Don posts the rules for both lists every week. The rules clearly say, no
off topic posts without permission from him or me, the listowners. We've had
several off-topic posts in the last week or ten days. Prefacing an off-topic post
with OT: does _NOT_ make it all right. Yes, I know some other lists do this.
But, Forkni-l and Fkfic-l don't.

From now on, off-topic posts without permission will get the poster set to
no-post until he or she undertakes to keep the rules.

I should have said this in my reminder about not making off-topic posts without
permission. Don and I do make allowances for mistakes, or accidents, or other
extenuating circumstances. Also, please don't hesitate to ask us for permission
to make an off-topic post. At least on Forkni-l, whoever you ask might agree.
It's happened before. We probably wouldn't agree on Fkfic-l, but that's because
it's for fanfic, but we might.

Hi-
I agree...of course when I joined back in college I had to get digests
because there were 100s of messages a day, maybe even 1000. I'm not sure, it was a
lot. That was perhaps a bit too overwhelming.
Anyway, I would be up for starting discussion with Dark Knight near the end
of the month. I will try to be as active as possible considering I will be
starting a new job, looking for a new place to live, and studying for my boards.
Not that any of those things are as important as FK discussion. :) I think
it has been awhile since I've actually watched whole episodes rather than just
skipping around to my favorite parts. It will be good to go back and see them
as a whole again.

I've never participated in a war, or even read a war,
but stuff gets through to the FORKNI-L, and of course
I read The Bonnies' Seasons of Silliness (?) stories.

Do I recall correctly that one of the factions (I
believe it was the Perks) had a Wiffle Bat of Doom?
And was their not also a Duffle Bag of Doom? (Not to
be confused with Buffy the Vampire Slayer's weapons
bag.)

In what circumstances were these intriguing items used?

IIRC, Cousin Lucilla arrived in Toronto with it, and could conveniently hide
behind it in a pinch. It was in the last war, in the UFfers arrival post.

Lorin, emerging very briefly from lurkdom... ok, going back now.

...and for those of us in Europe, 3 weeks to try and fit in an hours' worth
of DVD time in-between all these World Cup football matches!

Which brings to mind - we never saw any of the FK characters (well, the
vampire ones, anyway) interested in any sports. I wonder if they would ever
support a team, or if they would consider all sports too 'transient' - after
all, many of the sports popular when they were mortal would be long gone in
the present day (although I seem to remember archaeologists found something
similar to ten-pin bowling in the Pyramids...)
