I'm absolutely in :)

I suggest an episode a month or every other week. Lots
of folks don't have time to do something weekly, and
this would give us a chance to watch and post.
I might also suggest that this could be a "challenge"
of sorts for those of us that write/read the fiction
list? Some fresh inspiration? Not a formal challenge
but perhaps an idea for tie-ins for the month?

"Leon Pownall, an actor well known for his stage appearances across Canada as
well as his work on television and film, died of cancer at Stratford General
Hospital yesterday morning. "

Oh no, oh no, oh no.... this is very sad news. I'd known that he'd had heart
problems, but no idea that there was cancer involved. That marvelous voice....
I've had his recording of "Do Not Go Gentle" for ages, converted it to CD and
mp3 so that it could follow me everywhere.

Here is hope that he has found the peace that his character of Dylan Thomas
never did. We will miss you, Leon Pownall, and the world is a little less sweet
without the sound of that melodic voice of yours.

I heard the news and the tears won't stop. He was someone very special

Cheryl is referring to the death of Leon Pownall, the notice of which
was posted by Michele Canterbury earlier today.

Great idea, Kristen! If we go with an episode every couple of weeks, that will
certainly give me a much better chance to participate.

My apologies to anyone who sent me a birthday greeting to
the above email and had it bounce. Vaix has been losing a
lot of my email. If anyone wishes to contact me in the future,
please use nitelvr@p........ Thanks.

Seems Megan and I have both been having computer problems. Mine crashed May
13 and I just got it back Jun 2, rebuilt by my son so it didn't cost me
anything but time.
So count me in also for the discussion group.

Hey, I'm a Cousin, and as we're *supposed* to be the wicked ones round here
it was up to me to make a gently pointed dig! Besides, I knew very well
that my last post would get one of two reactions: either, few, if any, list
members would reply, thereby proving recent suggestions that this list is
dying; or it would get everyone scrambliing out of the woodwork to protest.
Frankly, I hoped for the latter because I for one really didn't want the
former...

And yes, I do realise that some list members have good reason not to have
been able to reply yet - that's why I waited a week, before giving chase up.
I must admit that I also far too often fall into the 'really must answer
that email... later' category, and I know that sometimes you really do need
to put that cat among those pigeons! Having spent several years running fan
clubs, often solo, I've found out that when it comes to recruiting
volunteers you *have* to assume silence means 'No thanks' - only a complete
fool would assume it means 'Yes, I'll help out'.

Subject: FK Moments

I've had two 'Curiouser and Curiouser' moments in the
last week. The first was a story about the recent
first national poetry recitation contest, in the
preliminaries for which, a high school boy from D.C.
was shown doing bang up job with "Jabberwocky".

The second came in my daily email from "Dr.
Dictionary", a 'word a day' kind of thing. The word
was 'glabrous' which apparently comes from the Latin,
and means 'bald'. My first thought though was that it
sounded like it could easily be one of the nonsense
words from Hallucination!LaCroix' recitation of the
aforementioned Lewis Carroll poem. Kind of like
'frabjous'.
