A training workshop may bring me and a friend to Toronto on May 31 & June 1.

Unfortunately, we have to pay out of our own pockets, so we're looking for an
inexpensive decent hotel/motel in the downtown area. We will be near Spadina
Ave. and Queen St. W. intersection.

I'm checking some of the travel sites, but I figure a recommendation from a
local is MUCH better!

I am subscibed to a mulit-fancom fanfic rec community
on LiveJournal called crack_van. On Monday a user
named raveninthewind rec'd a Batman/Fk crossover
called "Myth of the Bat" with the author listed as
"P.Q. Laertes". I read the story, quite interesting
and noticed the link to the author's site at the
bottom "The Fake Book". That sounded awfully familiar
so I clicked and found that "P.Q. Laertes is our own
A.C. Chapin. I checked FKFanfic.com and the story is
there, listed under the Chapin ID.

This story is probably old news to charter
listmembers, but I only came to the fandom in 1998,
and somehow never read this one.

The story is basically LaCroix meets Batman, and deals
wonderfully with the psychologies of both, with Nick
and the Joker thrown in.

You can find it at
http://www.fkfanfic.com/fanfic/m/myth1010.txt

Or at the author's site:

There is a Travelodge on King Street West that I
stayed at some time ago. Rooms were ok, prices were ok
this was about 3 years ago I stayed there tho. One
plus was that it had free parking. (which will cost
you $20-35 a day elsewhere)

Isnt it amazing how LiveJournal and Blogs in general
have taken over the internet these days?
