JL Kerr, J = Julie, Julia, Jaylen, Jaye -- I answer to all. I live in [Xxxxxxxx], Oregon. My day job is as a Distribution & Logistics Manager for a consumer electronics company. And on the side I do a little writing; non-fiction articles and an occasional music review, fiction novels (thrillers and sci-fi mainly), and FK fanfic. > Who is your favorite FK character and why? Nick, LaCroix, Janette -- I find their longevity and history intriguing. > How long have you been a FK fan? How did you get > started? The movie Nick Knight, and then I was fortunate to stumble upon Crimetime after Primetime when it first started. It took me a while to warm up to a blond vampire, but when I did I was hooked! > Have you ever met anyone off the FK lists? Yes. I attended a Gerthering and met many, many great people, and I visited Nancy Taylor once who lives just south of me. [Hi, Nancy!] > Favorite Episodes for each season? Too numerous to list. Just about every episode has something I like. > Other hobbies? Genealogy -- been doing this since high school. History buff -- medieval European (mainly French & English), ancient Etruria and Rome. These interests were all pre-FK so you can see the allure. Travel -- wherever sounds appealing when I happen to have the time (which isn't often lately). My father lives in Vegas so I don't count my semi-annual visits as travel. Kickboxing & Chanbara -- not as much as I used to but I try to stay in shape. I used to fence a little but was never much better than an average beginner. Music -- all kinds, except opera & twangy country. My license plate frames read TOFOG (I just threw this bit in because I saw a couple other fans mention them). And I'm a news junkie, which can be very annoying to someone who isn't. > Family status? Happily single, no kids. > Have you ever met anyone famous? Yes. I've been places where it's hard not to bump into them; I grew up a military brat and my father moved in some high level circles, and then during/after college I worked in resort hotels where the rich & famous came to play, and then my career causes me to rub shoulders with the high & mighty on rare occasion -- but other than a few authors, no one is listed in my personal address or phone book. Do NBA players count? At various times I've had one as a neightbor. Hi All, Sorry this is late. It's take me ages to work out all the kinks and post a message! (MY hearty thanks to Don for his help!) Who are you, where do you live, what do you do? Heather Taylor-Nicholson, I Live in [Xxxxxxxx], Cornwall, United Kingdom. I work as a Registered Nurse in Acute Medicine and Trauma (new job I'm started on Wed 4th January. My feet have not stopped smouldering yet from all the running about!). Who is your favourite FK character and why? Definite NickNat Packer with some dark tendencies. I can relate to Nat more as she isn't always perfect, works bloody hard and is often ruled by her work, a lot of which can wear you down. Also a Don Schanke fan and I adore the caddy and the sexed up Norton Atlas motorbike in Nick's attic that often gets overlooked! But generally like all the characters. How long have you been a FK fan? How did you get started? I've known about FK for a while, but it was when I was following up the work of another actor (Michael McManus who played Fr. Pierre Rochfort in 'For I Have Sinned') and came across FK being shown on the Sky Satellite network in the UK (Sky One) that I finally settled and watched it through back in 2001. FIHS was the first episode I had seen and was blown away by the handsome welsh guy in the lead, the story line and the humour in such a dark setting and busted a gut laughing at the confessional scene. Have you ever met anyone off the FK lists? Cor! Yes! Loads and I know darn well I'm gonna forget names! Met up with Marge and Marla plus other ladies in Toronto in 2003, and Marla again when she came over to the UK on business and very kindly offered to help out in 2004 when I travelled to the US for the first time to see 'Lear' and again in 2005 to see DNGG (Marla, you *WILL* accept my humble undying thanks BTW!). And my thanks also to Marge for driving myself and a friend back to Stratford to see Ger in DNGG. And all the lovely ladies I have met since, some who are here as well as in the yahoo groups, chats etc. Wonderful gals and have made some great friends. Favorite Episodes for each season? Oh, lemmie think! 1) For I Have Sinned, Dance By The Light Of The Moon. 2) Loved *ALL* of season two but especially Curiouser and Curiouser, Undue Process, Near Death, Baby Baby, Crazy Love 3) Night In Question, Fever, Sons Of Belial, Dead Of Night, and I have to say (runs for cover) Last Knight as it was so sad and yet hopeful at the same time (I still expect to find Nick and Nat in my shower one day!) but have really enjoyed all of the 3 series. Loved the bloopers as well! ;) Other hobbies? Internet, internet, internet, cinema, food, crochet, travel, theatre, sea safety, writing, internet, dressing up in silly costumes and attending local fan run scifi conventions, internet! Family. One husband called Dave (2006 will be the 20th anniversary since we met and will be our 15th year of wedded bliss), 1 cat - standard British black shorthair of dubious pedigree, 2 computers, 2 motorcycles, small car, 2 stationary engines and a vacuum cleaner called Sigourney, as well as my telly! No kids though, left that for my brother and his wonderful wife to sort and have a fabulous nephew and niece as a result (both bi-lingual in English and Welsh). Have you ever met anyone famous? Geraint Wyn Davies, Nigel Bennett, Christopher Plummer (poor man was so gracious while all I did was go biblebabblleblurbblewurble!), number of politicians, Leonard Cheshire (founded a world wide charity to assist People with disabilities). Have been up close to Princess Diana and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip, and introduced to Princess Anne. Also, for those of you who have watched 'Lexx' Brian Downey (actor), Lex Gigeroff (writer and actor), Paul Donovan (producer and writer of Lexx). FK Life Change Yes! 'Lexx' got me to Nova Scotia but FK did the rest! It has re-awakened my love for the theatre even though I don't get a lot of time to visit local productions here in the UK, so make the effort when I travel as well to see something local. Have increased my internet skills almost to the point of geekdom and have made some excellent friends. Whatever you might think of Ger on TV, you just *GOTTA* see that man on stage! He is an excellent actor, and I have had the privilege to see others on stage too. Have even participated in a Drama Class/Rehearsal at Acadia University where one of my Canadian friends taught a theatre class recently. That was excellent and has helped me develop my own teaching skills as a result. Oh, before I go, shameless plug. I wanna play too. lol <<Who are you, where do you live, what do you do?>> My name is Katherine DeVries online, though I play with quite a different moniker in RL. My real name is Erin Bayne, alhough my friends all call me "Rhynn" or Rhynnah. Note: It rhymes wth Lynn, not Rye.n I adopted the online name because I dabble in adult fiction and was embarassed by it. The name took on a life of it's own and it's still here. I live in [Xxxxx], FL, and I am a hotel reservationist for Hiltone Reservations and Customer Care Center. <<Who is your favorite FK character and why?>> Lacroix. On the realistic end of things, Nigel Bennett makes a most compelling vampire master. Who wouldn't love the rapier wit, the snide asides, the repartee? On the fantasy side of the story: If you were to seek out a companion who was immortal,to share immortality with you, why not pick one with a sense of humor, a caustic tongue, and an almost monomaniacal intrest in you? Certainly life would never be dull. I have always seen the General's position with Nicholas as a very parental one: Nicholas is forever seeking self-destruction (an unnatural end to his life) and Lacroix is determined to make Nick change his mind.Lacroix is bound and determined that Nick will not kill himself. What does it matter if Nick hates Lacroix for the rest of his life? He'll still have the rest of his life to get over it...... <<How long have you been a FK fan? How did you get started?>> I don't remember the first show I watched, or the one that made me decide "This is it!!" Somewhere I picked up the show and I have held onto it ever since. I didn't have cable so it had to be the Crimetime setup. <<Have you ever met anyone off the FK lists?>> Sadly, no. Still might, just not yet <<Favorite Episodes for each season?>> Today? Father's Day. Yesterday: Be my Valentine. Day before that: Dark Knight 1 and 2. There will probably be a different answer tomorrow. <<Other hobbies?>> Writing on an adult RPG, dabbling in writing a book. Raising 4 kids and a Grumpy Grandpa <<Family status?>> Married 18 years as of 12/20/05, mother of 4 kids (ages 16,15,13, and 5), share a house with my dad. <<Have you ever met anyone famous?>> Um, okay.....David Copperfield the magician, John Schneider (kissed his cheek durring his Dukes days), Jon Pertwee, Pat Troughton, Colin Baker, Peter Davidson, John Nathan -Turner, George Takei, a large number of companions from Dr. Who and other sci fi television shows ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 6 Jan 2006 22:39:40 -0800 From: "jerezfino@y......" <jerezfino@y......> Subject: Re: Getting to know you! I remember when I watched the show as a teen, I didn't find any of the older cast that attractive (didn't care for any of them lookswise until season 3, with Urs *steals her for my harem* and Vachon's big, brown puppy eyes). Now I find myself thinking, "Ooh, Nat's so pretty, like a silent film star!" or "Nick's got the cutest little impish grin," or whatever -_-;;; . Still haven't grown into thinking LaCroix is handsome yet, though. What age does that usually come? Maria-sama ga miteru. . . 'cause she's just a perv like that -_-; . . . > What can I say, I need a few more years before > I find Nick or LaCroix really attractive. :) ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 7 Jan 2006 01:50:35 -0800 From: VADC <freedom_bandit@y......> Subject: Re: FORKNI-L Digest - 5 Jan 2006 to 6 Jan 2006 (#2006-8) Still haven't grown into thinking LaCroix is handsome yet, though. What age does that usually come? From a filmmaker's perspective, and generally my aesthetic tastes, I think Nigel Bennett has very defined features which work for camera. Additionally, I think he just has very mature good looks. He's definitely aged well, too. I think the more you watch film and see older stars, and identify what about them makes them work for screen, you'll be able to see it! He does age well. But the main thing isn't looks. The guy has charisma. And he gives Lacroix a certain aura (the voice doesn't hurt either) which makes my knees go weak.
