Sorry so late....

>> Who are you, where do you live, what do you do?

I'm Becky, Cousin Becky around here, and I'm a stay at home mom for now,
but am going back to college to get my degree in apparel design and
merchandising. I live in the South.... :-D

>> Who is your favorite FK character and why?

Lacroix.. No reason, just he's freakin nifty.

>> How long have you been a FK fan? How did you get
>> started?

I started watching the "Crimetime after Primetime" showings, and was hooked
from there. So.... 1992-ish? Something like that.

>> Have you ever met anyone off the FK lists?

Not anyone except for my sweet sister. LOL

>> Favorite Episodes for each season?

Hmmm... Unreality TV is the first one I remember watching all the way
through, so that'll be my favorite for the first season. Be My Valentine is
my favorite of the second season, and.... hmmm... I've not seen much of
the third season, unfortunately, so no favorite there. (Come on DVDs!!)

>> Other hobbies?

If I do say so myself, I'm a talented seamstress, I love to read, and I surf
the net a lot.

>> Family status?

Married with two kids that are being suitably corrupted... err, being
invited to watch Forever Knight with us when we do watch. :-D

>> Have you ever met anyone famous?

IRL, no.... unfortunately. :( That's got to change soon.... right??

>>
>>How and where has FK changed your life, and why?

I've met some awesome people through this list, and I'm glad I did. :)

Hi, this is McLisa, also praying for everyone impacted by the Texas/Oklahoma
fires. Aside from caring about anyone who's suffering, I'm wondering if we have
anyone who's been burned out or had it happened to family or friends?

I agree!! I love reading them, even though they're not exactly my favorite
pairing (but it's easiest to write about, at least for me! LOL)

I agree... that's where I get hung up too. It's hard when given some
elements, and there's not much you can do to link them together in a whole
serious or silly story. :( The idea is great, but it just doesn't seem to
work for me.

Before FK, I thought I was a freak of nature. I only knew one other person
with interests and an imagination similar to mine, the friend who told me about
FK. I was already on the internet because I had access as part of my job, but
only on Feline-L. Once FK revived my interest in vampires -- I'm another one who
got hooked on Dark Shadows, the original which was in first run on ABC while I
was in college, I got into online fandom via Vampyres@guvm (no longer with us
in that form alas) and through Vampyres into Forkni-l and Fkfic-l. I ended up
as acting listowner on Vampyres, which was very much like herding supernatural
cats <g>, so when Jaye needed an assistant for Forkni-l, I offered to help. I'm
in my second stint now as a listowner (couldn't do it without Don, who takes
time for all the tech stuff). Believe it or not, before FK I was a repressed.
shy loner. Thanks to FK I've got lots of friends who are as happily weird as
I am :) and I've gotten over my shyness. !
I've been to several places I'd probably not have gotten to without the show.
(I love to travel but hadn't thought of going to Toronto or Los Angeles until I
started going to cons.)

Oh, yes, and my writing had dried up for nearly ten years as a result of a
series of personal crises. FK fanfic gave it back to me, although I haven't written
fanfic other than wars for some years now.

Subject: Getting to Know Us

>Who are you, where do you live, what do you do?<

My name is Petra and I live in [Xxxxxxxxxx], Germany. I studied Biology, but
ended up being unemployed. I'm currently looking for a job as a scientific
writer.

>Who is your favorite FK character and why?<

Nick, especially when his dark side threatens to break through;

Lacroix (who can resist someone who's that seductive?)

>How long have you been a FK fan? How did you get started?<

I’ve been a fan since 1994, when the show first aired on German TV. The first
episode I stumbled across was ‘1966’.

>Have you ever met anyone off the FK lists?<

I meet with other German fans on a regular basis and I've met several others
while visiting Toronto, Stratford and New York.

>Favorite Episodes for each season?<

S1: I will repay

S2: Be my Valentine, Father's Day

S3: Knight in Question

>Other hobbies?<

Travelling, reading (esp. 19th century Gothic novels), writing, soccer
(unerring focus on my local team Arminia Bielefeld)

>Family status?<

Single, no kids, no pets, but lots of cuddly toys

>Have you ever met anyone famous?<

I met Ger in Stratford and New York and Nigel in Stratford and Manchester, UK.

Also: Christopher Plummer, Robert Picardo (The Doctor from ‘Voyager’), Doug
Bradley (Pinhead), Aaron Eisenberg (Nog from DS9), Blacky Fuchsberger, Johannes
Rau (former German president) and several soccer players plus their coaches.

>How and where has FK changed your life, and why?<

FK deepened my interest in history and literature. It inspired me to start
writing and it turned Toronto into my favourite vacation spot.

Have a great New Year everyone!

This sounds like Light of Day, by Amy R. - you should be able to find it

It's a terrific story and now that you've reminded me of it, I think I need
to read it again.

No, no, that can't be how it went, because I had already told Greg that I'd
go up to see him and was simply planning on going alone. Vancouver isn't
that far and it was only for the weekend, so I didn't have any qualms about
spending the money. I remember that when you found out about me going, you
wanted to come along, but it was Valentine's Day weekend and you didn't know
if you *could* go.

The conversation you might be thinking of is when Greg was playing in "The
Hobbit." That was in TO and meant taking a week off work, plus the long
plane flight, a week's stay in a hotel, and renting a car.... Much more of
a financial issue than just popping up to Vancouver for the weekend (at
least in my case).

>However, the "fun" part Bonnie left out was how sick I got up in

Yeah, you got really sick! I thought the doctors might not even let you get
on the plane to go back home. You were in that ER for hours!

>And, no, Greg did not make me eat any white rats, although I felt like it by

Did put a bit of a damper on the dinner, but at least you were healthy the
night before when we'd seen the play and then got to hang out with him in
the bar. I recall you quite monopolizing Greg leaving me to get chatted up
by an actor who only wanted to talk about the Russian town in California
called "So-bah-stow-ple." LOL!

Ah, good times.

*clearing throat again*

(I'm willing to give you the "Vancouver" discussion as that was a long time
ago, though I do remember the worry about Valentine's Day as I was still
married at the time).

Greg was monopolizing me about comic books<g> LOL! Oh, and we mustn't forget
his joy when he discovered I had THE Ratsie Wot Kilt Screed with me.

Picture Screed dashing through a bar holding a prize "squealer" by the tail
and I think everyone will get the picture. Between Greg and Nigel, I'm really
surprised the tail hasn't come off the Ratsie Wot Kilt Screed yet!

*Ah, good times.*

Oh, most definitely! That sort of sums up my feelings about FK fandom.
There's really not that many shows that would have a fandom this strong still
going after so many years. But instead of the Energizer Bunny who keeps "going
and going and going," I think FK fandom has an "Energizer Ratsie" that keeps
going and going and going...

Melinda aka Mel, from Chicago, and still looking for
a job but I want to work in a library.
>

Nick and Nat but it's really hard to figure out why.
I guess I kinda like Nick's redemption struggle...as
for Nat, while I don't like her job choice, she's
smart and all. Like I said, I don't do well at telling
why.
>

Around three years I think, I discovered the show
after I came home from college. I'd been wanting to
see the episode Callum Keith Rennie did, Outside The
Lines, and also wound up seeing a couple other eps I'd
mistaken for the correct one...hence seeing Curioser
and Curioser so soon...that really helped the
situation lol.
>
> Have you ever met anyone off the FK lists?
No
>
> Favourite episodes for each season?
I think two of them are S1, Only The Lonely and
Father Figure.
S2 Stranger Than Fiction, False Witness (I think
that's the title, the one with Nat's niece and the
other lady coroner)
S3 is harder...Knight in Question is one of them.

reading, fanfic writing, coin collecting, online
roleplaying, drawing

Single, still living with my mom, along with an aunt
and uncle.
