How and where has FK changed your life, and why?
Forever Knight inspired me to start writing, which is
something I really never seriously dreamed I would do
professionally.

More than giving me *just* a new creative
outlet/endeavor, it has given me a whole new belief in
myself and a new set of dreams. I'm approaching 40,
and although I have a successful career, I have always
wondered "what next"? Forever Knight has inspired me
in ways that give new meaning to my life and an added
dimension to my personality.

Not to mention all the new friends I've met online
because of the lists! :)

I've been reading all the responses to the questions I
posted yesterday...anyone who thinks this community is
fading is sadly mistaken!!! Happy New Year to everyone!

How and where has FK changed your life, and why?

Well, it has provided me with a whole bunch of new friends which is probably
the best thing out of it.
Secondly, it inspired me to learn basic webdesign and as of August of this year
<brag> I'm not only Head of English at my school but also the resident webgeek,
aka Webmaster </end brag>.
Maybe not as spectacular as being a published writer but I still remeber the
time when in 2001 I vowed to "never get a personal website since this is
nonsense" - well, a year later I bought my own domain.
Then there is the fanfic, which has changed me quite a bit too ;) < as in
"Fanfic? Slash? Never heard of either" -- FK was the first fandom I delved into;
this whole concept of net communities and fan fiction had been completely unknown
to me before>

Subject: Getting to Know Us

Who are you, where do you live, what do you do?

I'm Cindy Clark. I live in [Xxxxxx], Ohio, and work as a Medical Laboratory
Technologist at a Level 1 Trauma Center.

Who is your favorite FK character and why?

Nick, but I like him kinda dark. I don't mind some of the angst, but he
could do so much better if he accepted who and what he is and moved on from
there.

How long have you been a FK fan? How did you get started?

I got started with Dark Shadows, and then found the Rick Springfield movie
in '98. My books kept my interest in humanistic vampires alive in the mean
time. I found the series through fanfic when I was buying 'zines and saw
some artwork of a blond vampire and was told that it was Nick Knight. Then
I caught second season in syndication at 1:30 a.m., Monday mornings, and was
hooked.

Have you ever met anyone off the FK lists?

Yes. Too many to remember all of their names. I attended many conventions
and plays where I have met fellow listmembers, and hope to do more. I'm
looking forward to D.C. in 2007.

Favorite Episodes for each season?

1. Dying to Know You
2. Partners of the Month
3. My Boyfriend is a Vampire

Other hobbies?

Reading (This is my drug. Take my books away at your own peril!),
carpentry, sewing, and taking care of my house.

Family status?

Single, very single. I'm 42, and it's going to take a VERY special person
to change the afore mentioned fact.

Have you ever met anyone famous?

I have met most of the casts of B5, DS9, Voyager, FK, and a couple other
series, by attending/working conventions and plays, and will very likely
increase that number travel permitting. I've also attended several
book-signings; the latest with Diana Gabaldon, author of the Outlander
series.

How and where has FK changed your life, and why?

Growing up on a farm, and somewhat socially backward, FK gave me
opportunities to go places and meet people that I had only dreamed of. And,
meeting so many other people from so many other backgrounds and
life-challenges has been a great confidence booster.

In the same vein, I would like to thank every one in the group for being so
warm and inviting both in person and online. A co-worker recently joined
another fan club and went on a celebrity cruise with the club, thinking it
would be a good way to meet new people who shared at least one common
interest with her. She was treated as an outcast newbie and didn't feel
welcome at all. When she told me about her experience, I told her that FK
wasn't like that at all. We love to get new people and trap them in out
little web of insanity! <G>

I thought about trying the challenge, but as a new fanfic writer, I find it
difficult enough to write the stories in my head, much less a challenge with
various requirements. Maybe another year. However, I love to read the
stories.

Who are you, where do you live, what do you do?

My name is Mary Lynn Wirick. I live in [Xxxxxx], Texas and currently
work as an Electronic Assembler for BAE Systems.

Who is your favorite FK character and why?

Nick and with Nick goes Nat. They have a true love that started out with them
being just friends and it grew from there. I think that is the best and most
lasting kind.

How long have you been a FK fan? How did you get started?
I have been a fan since I started watching it when it came on just before
Dark Shadows on the Scifi Channel. I truly don't remember what year that was.
I do remember it was before Ger signed to do Black Harbour.

Have you ever met anyone off the FK lists?

Yes. I met several when I went to Gerthering 6 and again when I went to
Stratford to see Ger in My Fair Lady. He was superb in that role.

Favorite Episodes for each season?

1. Only the Lonely (I liked them all, but this was my favorite.)
2. Be My Valentine (I liked them all, but this was my favorite.)
3. My Boyfriend is a Vampire, Let No Man Tear Asunder, Night in Question
(I liked them all, but these were my favorites.)

Other hobbies?

Reading (Especially fan fiction), being on my computer and surfing the web.
Watching the British series Cash In The Attic.
Family status?

Single.

Have you ever met anyone famous?

I once met William Bendix, Kirk Allen, Butch Patrick (When he was grown up.)
Adam West, Aline Leslie (The voice of Lisa Hayes in Robotech) and George Takei
(He sang to me at a Con in Irving.)
And Geraint of course.

How and where has FK changed your life, and why?
I?ve met new people and traveled a few places I probably wouldn?t have other
wise. I still chat with a few at night.
I even started my own groups on Yahoo, something I might never have done if it
weren't for FK.
I have even written a few stories and posted them on my groups.

P.S. Please forgive any spelling errors. The spell checker Verizon has isn't
very good.

McLisa, full name Lisa McDavid. I live in [Xxxxxxxxxxxx] (but am originally from
South Carolina), and I'm a cataloger/technical services librarian at Christian
Theological Seminary (that's generic Christian. We train Protestant clergy for
many denominations and offer a counseling degree which is non-sectarian.)

>>Who is your favorite FK character and why?
I'm a notorious Cousin, but I'm also especially fond of Nick and Natalie.

>>How long have you been a FK fan? How did you get started?

Back when the first season was on CBS Crimetime after Primetime, in 1992, my
best friend since junior high school told me about the show. I must admit I
laughed. "A homicide cop who's a WHAT?" But she kept after me until I set the VCR
and taped Only the Lonely. I was hooked, and a hopeless Nick and Nat romantic
at that. Figuring that if anyone could tell me anything about FK, it would be a
list I'd heard of called Vampyres (no longer with us in that form, alas), I
joined it. Shortly afterwards someone told Vampyres about the new FK list, and I
subscribed at once.

>>Have you ever met anyone off the FK lists?

Oh, yes, quite a few at cons and when I've been in Toronto. Will and Greer gave
me a marvellous time touring Toronto and seeing FK sighs by day and night last
year.

>>Favorite Episodes for each season?

First Season: Only the Lonely, Feeding the Beast, False Witness, Unreality TV,
Spin Doctor and, if I'm not mixing up my seasons, Partners of the Month.

Second Season: Fate Worse than Death (the first time I ever liked Janette, let
alone understood her), Curiouser and Curiouser

Third Season: My Boyfriend is a Vampire and the one where the Ratsie kills
Screed (Fever? The old gray mare's memory ain't what it used to be, even if I do
use hair color <g>>.

true crime documentaries on tv along with Medium, Monk and Antiques Roadshow.

Thanks to several cons and his being formerly on Forkni-l, I used to know Nigel
Bennett to speak to. I've met Ger, Deb, John and Natsuko. They're all very
friendly and have great sense of humor. Pat Elrod too.
