A France airbus (I think I have that right) has skidded off the runway at
Toronto's Pearson International Airport. I don't recall anyone posting they were
visiting Toronto this week, but I want to make sure everyone is safe.

According to the latest report that I heard on Global incredible as it
may seem everyone survived. 14 were taken to the hospital for minor
injuries but they've been released. The crew obviously did a wonderful
job in getting everyone off.

yeah, 309 safely off the plane. All crew and passangers safe. Wowza. One guy
said it was a 'hell of a rollercoaster going down the ravine" that was at the
end of the runway.

Guess those folks paid attention when they pointed out the exits in that
lecture!

Subject: FK War/Fanfic moment

I was doing my morning routine of clicking at the
Animal Rescue site, and its sister charitable sites
when I came across a link for a "Peruvian Llama
necklace"

www.gearthatgives.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/CTDStore.woa/wa/product?siteID=221&itemID=27567&origin=32725

I have the same moment whenever I go to Barnes &
Noble. (They have those cute little stuffed animals to
go with childrens' book titles, including a really
cool looking llama.)

My insufficiently caffeinated brain is not giving me
the name of the series of holiday stories based on the
last war. Or even which of the two Bonnies is the
Llama. It's a sign of how great those stories were
that I never even read any of the war posts, and I
still could follow and love those stories.

In a similar vein. I was watching "Killer Instinct" with the commentary
from GWD and JP, and they were commenting on not knowing how Jeanette got
out of the holding area when Nick was in jail without being seen by the IA
guys and lawyers who were coming in. Am I the only one who just assumed
that she telepathically shielded herself so that the mortals couldn't see
her, and then slipped out while the focus was turned to Nick and the people
who were coming in?

This idea might be a stretch, but until they mentioned it in the commentary,
I never had a problem with where Jeanette went in that scene.

While I don't think the FK vamps have telepathic abilities in the sense
of being able to read minds, we do know that have mind control
abilities over humans. "Close Call" is the example I can think of most
readiliy. The ability to get in and out of places (the police station
usually) without being seen, I've always attributed to this ability.

I haven't really thought about it in detail, but who knows how many
minds can be contoled at one time. It could possible be more than one.
Take, for example, a Las Vegas magician who can convince and entire
audience of people that they're seeing something.

So instead of telepathically "shielding" oneself, maybe it's more like
"telegraphing" the "suggestion" that they are not there at all.

I think Janette could "vamp" a group of men any number of ways.
Between them... she could pretty much go anywhere she wanted.

LOL Sort of an FK vamp version of "These aren't the
droids you're looking for."

Seriously, if LaCroix can do the "This. Never.
Happened." thing, then I don't see why Janette can't.

In regards to Janette being unseen in Killer Instinct,
I always thought that she just moved too fast for them
to see her... if the girl can fly, why can't she move
faster than the human eye can see... It's the same
when Nick was confronting the 'bad guy du jour'- one
minute he was in front of him the next, he was
blocking his attempts to run the other way,..

I'm not sure if it's the same scene in Killer Instinct (haven't seen it
in a while), but there is one scene where Janette goes to the jail, and
the guard actually says something to the effect that she's not supposed
to be there and she whammy's him?
