vampires since I was 6, let's hope not.

I have been looking for these stories for months, could someone please tell
me the names. Thanks.

1) Nick gets a cement beam shoved through his chest during a car crash while
chasing a bomber
trying to blow up a bridge.

2) Nat tries to make Nick mortal, hunter captures Nick, Nat & another
vampire. Nat gave Nick a drug
to make him mortal and it's wearing off slowly.

Here's another interesting book for all you Cousins.

Knight Ranger

"Soldiers and Ghosts: A History of Battle in Classical
Antiquity" by J. E. Lendon

Proceeding from a conviction "that warfare, although
it has a melody of its own, is a part of the wider
symphony of the society of the combatants," the author
has undertaken a bold reappraisal of the military
practices of ancient Greece and Rome, showing how, in
an era when technological change was slow and
incremental, the presence of the past was a major
factor in determining the ways of war. "A stunningly
original contribution to our understanding of ancient
warfare." (Donald Kagan)

I'm rather freaked right now. Three weeks ago, I brought home a kitten,
named Twilight Louise. Everything was going peachy until this afternoon. TL
threw up three times, and has since disappeared. We've looked everywhere.
Tore my room up. Moved a dozen boxes. Nothing. It's now five hours since
I've seen her last. That's a loooong time for a two month kitten to go
without food. Your prayers worked when Ko-Koi was sick. HELP!

Hugs and Kisses,

Not to make light of the moment, I have 2 cats and a dog and I get
very worried about them - but I also have had 'missing kitten
moments' Our black cat phoebe has climbed into the wall, (took a
long time to find her since her voice is so soft) she has also fallen
out of a window (found the screen on the driveway when I got home
from work (a couple of hours later she came up the driveway - amazing
that she found her way home since she isn't allowed outside)
With our first cat, he went missing the very afternoon we brought him
home. A couple of hours later, we found him squeezed on top of a
paint can that was under a cabinet. No idea how he fit there.
Kittens can fit in places you wouldn't even think of.
You'll find her and she'll be ok. She's probably as freaked as you
are. :)

Could be. Quote is only of the latter part.

We finally found her, after midnight last night. Apparently the little pill
had slipped between the fireplace and the tv table. Both have ledges and
she's grey, so it's easy to see why we missed her there.

Thanks, everyone for the emails. They were a great comfort.

I'm so glad that you found her, Liz! These kitties can take years off of
our lives with their disappearing acts, can't they? <G>
