Subject: prayer: please pray for our London friends

I woke up to the news that there's been a series of explosions in the London
Underground. I know we have several FK actors with friends and family there,
and I believe several listmembers from that area.

Our prayers and thoughts go out to all affected.

How stupid and dangerous hate is...

Do we have any London, England residents on the list? I believe we do. Could
they check in, please?

There's been a series of explosions in the London Underground and possibly on
several buses.

I know we have several FK actors with friends and family in London.

My thoughts and prayer to all those who are affected
by this violent act.

Subject: First Season DVD question -- Father Figure

Hey all! I've got a question for those of you who have the Season 1 set of
the DVDs. I'm doing screen captures to remake my Episode archives, and find
that I appear to be missing a chunk of the opening and first act in "Father
Figure."

On my DVD, the opening scene ends where Lisa witnesses the murder and the
bad guys make their getaway, and the "first" act starts with Lisa and Nick
entering the loft. There's a whole chunk at the crime scene and the police
station that's missing. Is that true for everyone, or did I somehow get a
defective set of DVDs?

What flusters me is that the cool Canadian scene with Nick filling his
bottles of blood from the barrel is there, but a huge part of the opening
**isn't**?

My version , after the opening credits, starts with Nick arriving at the
crime scene and the episode title. So if you don't have that, your DVDs
are probably not working properly and skip a chapter.
Have you checked your player?

Doris

PS: Did anyone have the same problem?

I am at work and can't view my dvds at the moment, but I don't remember any
missing scenes. So, as far as I recall, the crime scene was on my copy.

I'm a Londoner, live just 300 yards from Canary Wharf. I'm out of the
country at the moment, had two hours of total panic this morning when I
couldn't contact my parents or any of their friends due to all the phone
lines being down. I've now checked in with family and friends and so
far nobody is missing. Everyone is very, very shocked, and London has
basically shut down.

Doris nailed the problem. Thanks. It was my player. I tried another, and
the scene was there. Thank goodness! <sigh>

My appreciation to everyone who offered help and suggestions.

With Lorin currently living away from home, I think at present I'm the
closest member to London geographically, and I'm in Hemel Hempstead, which
is about 25 miles north. Just got the last email regarding friends who *do*
live or work in London, and they're all safe, thank goodness!

For those wanting fairly accurate, up to date, news of what's been going on,
or details of how to contact friends in the London area, two of the best
sites are www.bbc.co.uk and www.itv.com - the ITV (Independant Television
Network) had some terrifying pictures of the bus that was ripped apart, when
I looked earlier today.
