Woohoo! I beat it with Tom Wopat ( formerly of the Dukes of Hazzard)!
Most of those I entered were 2, but I did get a few 3s with some obscure
British actors, several of them from "I, Claudius."

I have a rating of 1 (or 1 1/2, depending on how you look at it).
When I was a intern at a summer theater Kevin and his brother did a
concert at my theater, and I was in the costume shop. Kevin forgot a
belt for his pants, and came in and I got him one.

That summer we were doing Music Man. If Kevin hadn't been filming a
movie (which turned out to be Apollo 13), he would have been our
Professor Harold Hill, because it's a roll he's always loved (and some
of the higher ups in that theater had connections that good). And I
was the wardrobe mistress for the crew, so I would have been working
for him a bit (even doing his show laundry quite possibly).

In order to be on topic (and within the rules) for Forkni-l, the Oracle of
Bacon has to be directly connected to Forever Knight. Otherwise, posts about
it need to go offlist.

Just rented the first 2 dvds and let me tell ya the image quality sucks big
time, worst than my vhs copy from when it was playing on tv. I know they
want to make money, but is it worth it having something of such a bad
quality, they are trying to put as many episodes on 1 dvd as they can but in
the end they are selling a product that is not of good quality, I'm soooo
glad I didn't buy the dvd set, when you think DVD you think HIGH image
quality not less than VHS quality.

I'm very disapointed at them for not making a better product.

I have no idea what you are talking about as my set, bought from Amazon, has
EXCELLENT quality - much better than my first generation taped from
television. Maybe you got a bad set. I was impressed how crisp and clear the
pictures
are considering they probably did not exactly film with top of the line video
equipment.

I agree, Libby...the quality on my set from Amazon is wonderful. The video
was even clear on my little personal DVD player. Second season was much
better than the first set, which still seemed a bit grainy to me. Just MHO.

I have first generation vhs tapes that I recorded myself from scifi at slow
speed and the dvds are much better quality. I don't know what the people who are
upset were expecting. FK was not filmed on the quality of video that many
current shows are - plus because we aren't as large a fan base, they aren't going
to spend the money to 'remaster' the original stock.

I am very pleased with the quality.

A mate of mine sent me this job predictor email... you open it up, type your
name and watch as it tells you what your ideal job is...Seeing as I'm going to be
President I couldn't help check what a few of our favourite ghouls and
ghoulettes would turn up as:

Nick Knight: Jungle Explorer??? (only if there's a jade cup involved)

Natalie Lambert: Alien Investigator (could have been her next big career move)

Janette DuCharme: Movie Star (no surprises there really)

Tracy Vetter: Panto Dame (the far side of Babe Cop that's for sure)

Donald Schanke: Professional Hippy (would explain the love of Hawaiian shirts
to a degree)

Screed: Supermodel (OMG!!! HAHAHAHAHA)

Javier Vachon: Computer Nerd (**forces hand into mouth to quell laughter in
library)

Lucien LaCroix: Big Game Hunter (I'm still wiping away the laughter tears)

Self inflicted I know... but somethings gotta help me through the studying LOL

Is it possible that where you rented them, the previous viewer had
scratched them or something? The label side of a DVD is actually
more vulnerable than the back side, from what I've read. I've run
into problems when I bought the Back to the Future trilogy from
Blockbuster and they all had the same defect and kept freezing in the
same scene. Took me three times to return them before they'd give me
a full refund. Anyway, I just watched the first DVD on my brand new
second season set and it was great. No problems at all.

You may want to return them to wherever you rented them from and ask
for a new copy. I mean, honestly, these are DVDs, they couldn't be
that bad unless they were scratched or something.

The quality on the first *2* discs is, indeed, grainy. If you don't have a
high end system or large tv, you may not notice it that much. On our large
HD widescreen tv the grain and pixelation were terrible in many scenes
(especially the precient and blue lighting). The other 4 discs are decent
quality, because they finally upgraded the film stock in those episodes (a
defected disc will not cause extra grain either). With Sony's extra
compression, some scenes on the first 2 discs suffer greatly, so in some
cases they seem as bad as VHS. My own dvd recordings are clearer in those
cases. Overall, it depends how high-end your system is. The average viewer
probably won't notice the graininess as much.
