Cute! I mean, hey, I can't say anything, I haven't even tried. (Now to get
back to my Spanish History essay, my 15-pg short story, and studying for my
Spanish Lit midterm.... Yuck!)

Subject: Forever Pumpkin...

This year is my senior year at college and as part of the traditions
of my college, we have what is called Pumpkin Parade. During this
week, a sophmore who especially loves you (whose name you don't know)
decorates your dorm door and leaves you gifts and messages about how
much they appreciate you. You, in return, leave her something each
night for her to enjoy. And at the end of the week, your sophmore
presents you with a pumpkin she carved for you with which you will
march proudly around campus with during the actual "Pumpkin Parade".
My question (look, here comes the actual FK content) is this:

Has anyone come up with any good Forever Knight pumpkin carving
designs? I'd LOVE to have an FK pumpkin in the parade, but so far I
haven't been able to find much. I made something that doesn't look
half bad with the FK fonts and a picture of the Toronto skyline, but I
was wondering if the artistic types here on the list had possibly done
anything like this?

Danii,
who hopes she doesn't sound too loony...

Subject: Admin: War scenario and WM chosen

This is the last time I'll do one of these messages as Admin: rather than as
War:, so if you're interested but not sure if you're set for war:, please do the
following.

1. Send a message to "listserv@lists.psu.edu" (don't use the quotes) with the
command "set forkni-l topics:+war". Don't use the quotes of put a period at the
end. The command has to be in exactly this form or it won't work. I suggest cut
and paste.

2. If you want to set war: on Fkfic-l, follow the same procedure but use
fkfic-l in the command in place of forkni-l.

3. If you are already set to war:, you will get a notice that says so. If not,
you will get a notice that says the command failed.

4. Don and I both have to be out of town during a period that overlaps in the
first days of October. I will try to help, and can do so after I return, but
from about noon Central time on Oct. 2nd through Oct. 11th I will be away from my
computer.

In case you wondered, the quote marks are there to keep the listserv software
from mistaking this for an attempt to send a command to the list instead of to
the listserv. That's why I have to put them in and you have to take them out.

The proposed dates for the war are Nov. 1 through 15th, and Nov. 8 through 22.
I favor the latter, but discussion is open. Please, please remember that
discussion must got to Forkni-l and must have war: at the beginning of the subject
line. The colon is vital. It tells the listserv that this is a topic and must be
sent only to people who are set for it.

The scenario will be revealed once the war starts, and the War Mistress/Master
may or may not choose to write to the list before.

I would definately prefer the later date for the war. I really would like
to participate and I'm hopefully going to be out of town for most of the
time of the first date.

It doesn't matter to me. I'll likely be working my day job AND in rehearsal the
entire time period which means just participating on the weekends, anyway.

I'd like to remind all newbies that there's no way we can get a date that
satisfies everyone. That seems to be a problem every time we have a war - potential
participants think their available dates should be the only dates allowed. It
doesn't work that way ;-)

For example, I usually give certain people permission to write me into story.
I've known participants who've not been home for the entire war yet were very
active<g>

What's the date of American Thanksgiving? And when is Canadian Thanksgiving?

According to my calendar for this year, Canada's Thanksgiving is Oct. 11,
and the USA's is November 25.
