I find it hard to believe that "only a few Hundred"
sets were sold. So many people bought multipe copies
of them at $25.00, and if every Walmart and Best Buy
sold even one copy, not counting what was sold on the
web, the sales would still be in the thousands. If
sales were so bad, why after a year on the shelf, are
the remaining copies still more than $70 each? Why
not clearance them and try to get something for them.
I would like to see some real sales numbers.

So would I. I know I ended up with 4 copies with my whole family
buying them for me. (I can actually find one copy...) I've been
saving money for seasons 2 and 3, and on disability this is no mean
feat.

I used to work at Amazon.com and still have some
contacts over there; I can see if I can get some of
their sales stats.

found it to be very accurate. Not sure where he gets
his info, but it has been right on the money.

excellently.

Ooh, the '79 Langella Drac coming out on DVD on my
birthday! I know it plays fast and loose with the
Dracula story, and it's not well considered, (Witness
the inside joke on 'Angel': the angsty vamp with the
questionable taste in pop culture saying "I liked
Frank Langella."<g>) but I love it. <g>

I know in the Buffy universe there really was a
Dracula, but I can't recall anything in FK canon
regarding him. Anybody remember anything? Any
reference to Drac at all?

South Carolina is just getting oceans of rain. Some of it is with
thunder and lightning, but just mostly drenching rain. I'm about 2
miles inland, so /we/ aren't flooding. All the bridges are open and
we've had no evacuation orders yet. I think Florida is getting
hardest hit.

Hey,

I'm in Tampa, FL. Weather is a little gray, not wet yet or really windy.
Landfall has been said to be scheduled for 1pm EST but I'll believe that
when I see it. lol We are not evacuating, being rather far inland compared
to the beachfronts who are clearing out now. Not really worried as this
house is over forty years old and we've been in it all my life (38 yr).
Never been flooded or had to leave....

Thanks for asking.
As Always,

Hi Everyone:

Yes, I'm in the direct path of Hurricane Charley in the
Tampa Bay area of Florida. However, I'm in a non-evacuation zone,
so I've battened down the hatches and will be ridding out
the storm. If need be I'm less than a mile from a shelter.

As we are anticipating power outages it may be a while
before I can check back in.

Subject: FK Virtual 4th Season

A few years ago fans got together and created a
"virtual" fourth season for FK. Several stories were
written and published on FKFic-L and on a web site
before the project ended. Is there interest in
starting it up again? I don't know about the rest of
you, but I'm pining for new FK. Fan fiction in general
is good, but the virtual season offered continuity and
story arcs that carried from one episode to another.

McLisa has graciously allowed me to bring the
discussion to this list. There is also a list for
discussion of the 4th season (FKV4S-L), should we
decide to move forward again. You can read more about
the purpose of the virtual 4th season and the stories
that have come before at: http://www.fkfanfic.com/v4s/

If there's enough interest to justify restarting the
project, I'd be happy to offer my services as
coordinator, or I'll be glad to help the original
producers if they're interested in picking it up
again. I'll/we'll need a lot of help, and not just
from writers. If you're interested in helping with
continuity, historical accuracy, or just about
anything else, please drop me a line!

I would love to see it continued. The V4S offered stories by different
people, yet they were all very well done and the continuity was great. Unlike
roundrobins, authors could not put as much of their own biases into the stories
which was fun to read and was, I'm sure, a challenge to write. I had read a
while
back that there were more stories in development but interferences from RL
had prevented either the next story in line from being finished, or being
beta'd. Perhaps someone more directly involved could speak to this. My vote
would be
that if there ARE stories already written, PLEASE, PLEASE let them be posted.
If the original V4S committee is too busy, please allow the torch to be
passed to those who have the time. Like you, I'm pining for new stories,
although
I'm as guilty as any of our other FK writers for not finishing stories (I have
one that I've been "working" on for at least 2 years and I promise it will get
done this year) so I can't complain too loudly about RL interferring with my
hobbies.
