Does anyone remember how much (how long) advance word
Sony put out before they released season 1 last year?

Guessing, a month or two, they asked for 25.95, I think.

That was around the middle of August. But according to Sony's website - I
don't know if they list absolutely everything they plan to release - no FK
S2 is scheduled to come out. They have listings up for as far as 27th of
November.

How disappointing if Sony decides not to release
seasons 2 and 3! Did anyone ever hear how well the
first set sold? I saw it in retail stores here
briefly, but not for some time now. I would so love to
replace the rest of my oh-so-well-worn VHS tapes. Not
to mention getting the chance to see the Canadian
versions!

I may transcribe my VHS copies to DVD just for the
convenience, if Sony pulls the plug. It is so nice to
have them all in order, with no commercials, and
taking up so much less space. And if you want to binge
on FK, you can just put the disc in, grab the popcorn,
and let 'er rip.

I'm not alone in FK binging, right? Right?? Do the
rest of you start at the beginning, or do you have
tapes of favorite eps you watch back to back? I've got
some vacation time coming up, and I just may pop in
the pilot and veg out on the couch for as long as it
takes. Starting at dusk and going all night, of
course. ;-) Everyone in Central California is welcome
to come join me waste precious hours of my life on a
cancelled cult TV show. I'll buy the popcorn.

Isn't life grand?

Maybe it is time for a write-in campaign to get Season 2 on DVD? Has anyone
contacted Sony to ask them about a release? As I recall, Season 1 wasn't on any
lists until right beforehand.

No, you're not alone. I love having my own FK marathons too without
commercials. However, last I spoke to Gord at tvshowsondvd.com the news
wasn't good. He mentioned only a few hundred sets sold, so it could be a
while before we get any more (assuming we do). There was also a post on the
Sci-fi board that mentioned that preliminary work has been done for season
2, but nothing more than that as of yet.

All I can recommend is if you haven't already gotten a set of season 1 on
DVD, go for it! It'd make a wonderful present for friends too (especially
those who like vampires ;)).

Susan Field collected letters for this recently (we had around 100 people
participate). At this point all that really matters to Sony are the sales of
season 1. If they're not making enough $ off FK they won't do the rest.

A few months ago I helped to gather emails to send to Sony. I can't remember
who we sent them to. I think there was only a bit over a hundred responses.
I was a bit frustrated, because I know by the number of hits Kristen's
Knight Visions and some of the fan fiction sites are getting that there's
more fans out there. Even if you don't intend to buy the DVD's it would be
beneficial if you contacted Sony to release the other seasons. I had heard
that Sony talked to Ger about an interview to include, but don't know how
accurate that is. We all know how rumors can fly about these things.

If anyone wants to head the campaign to send more emails to Sony, I would be
happy to gather more emails. I have my own group, Midnight Passions, and
have quite a few converts over there who have recently become FK fans. We
also have FK fans that aren't on other FK lists. Just let me know and I'll
do my part to gather as many request as possible.

Thanks!
