There's Disillusion by Kadira Kerkhoff. It's an adult N/LC story.

Remember the Nunkmommy of ol'? She was a roommate for a while and used to
claim Screed lived under my house.

I now have proof.

I just went outside to feed my dawg, and there was a rat doubled over the
edge of Gilbert's water bowl.

The rat didn't move, and Gilbert (who has killed many a rat) was ignoring it.

The rat was very dead, and looked quite "empty" to me.

*blink*

SCREED!!!!!! Clean up after yourself, please!

Pleasant dreams of Sceedy smooches, everyone <wRPg> BWAHAHAHAH

Much LOL to ya, Libs. Can't think of a more logical place for Screed to take
up residence than your house.
Actually, while hearing of Phoenix's roof rat problem not so long ago, I
thought (aloud) "Now, where's Screed when ya need him?", and maybe
googolplex-dog-daring an extermination company to name themselves "Screed's
Rat-Whackers" or
anything similar that any lovely Rat-Packer could think up.
ok, going to bed now...

Subject: Nick's artifacts

I had an idea for a story (of course I am in the middle of writing
another one, so this may be a while) and I need some help.
Without getting into too much detail, it involves artifacts that Nick
might have lying around.
What items did we see in the series, that weren't destroyed, or what
items haven't we seen that he might have.
I can only think of Joan's cross and that shaleighleigh thing from
LK.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
-Amanda

Sadly, it has been too long for me to be sure, but wasn't there a
painting of Janette that had been done by somone famous? I remember
a very elaborate case for it and it having significent sentimental
value for Nick.

I always wondered about that box he kept his keys and watch in. It looked
Chinese to me-- maybe one of those antique laquered boxes?

Don't forget his briefcase, nameplate, and pre-Columbian artifacts from his
"grave robbing" days at the University of Chicago (Spin Doctor);the Black
Buddha; the torn 1940's or 1950's photo of the Barringtons (Forward into the
Past); the intact photo of Toeffler family from sometime shortly after 1966;
the
mantelpiece which he has had since at least the 1918-1922 period of Baby, Baby;
the Da Vinci painting of Janette, which has already been mentioned (Partners of
the Month); the watch from Father's Day; perhaps the fragments of the jade cup
from Dark Knight? In Blind Faith, didn't he use the same stake-whittling
machete
in both the 1883 flashback, and in the modern day? Oh, and Erica's amethyst(?)
ring from Last Act, which--if I remember right--he took from the park bench
where she died, and then he later showed it to Janette.

And then you can begin to speculate--perhaps a portrait of him when he was a
Civil War doctor, taken by the photographer in Unreality TV? Possibly some
antique jewels (c. 1620-1640) still remaining from the ransom in Blood Money?

Your very humble & most obedient servant,
Angela Gottfred

He gave the ring to the young actress after the play.

I can't cite the particular stories, but Susan Garrett addressed this idea
more than once.

Didn't he have a doll he took from Erica's room? And I think in one
show he had a box of stuff and Natalie was looking over his shoulder
as he pulled out a desk thingy with his then name on it. I think
Natalie commented on how much he had enjoyed teaching.
