Could be he did. After I read your letter I went and looked in one of our
books of Christmas Carols. It said it was Old French. I remember singing
it in school and liking it even though I didn't really understanding the
point of the lyrics. Now that I know it was a crusader song the lyrics
make a lot more sense to me.

Subject: Nutcracker
I've been watching several old tapes of the Nutcracker and now a
presentation on ETV. I found myself wondering:
We know that Nick is interested in the fine arts, music, and the
ballet. We know he acted during Shakespeare's time. Does anyone else
wonder if he tried ballet? I guess rehearsals would be difficult as
well as matinees, but he managed them when acting...

I finally got around to building a website at my new ISP. I don't have all
my stories up yet, but there is a good selection, including two pieces from
Christmases past, "Shepherds" and "Wild Things."
I hope to have the rest back up by New Year's and then... I will actually
post something new. (I promised Nancy Kaminski and Kathy Whelton a story
about Schanke in the fall of 1999 !)
Happy holidays to all !

And then foolishly left out the link:

Clearly. I needed more of a long winter's nap!
