Usually, the first snowfall happens between mid to late November, although
it sometimes can happen in early November or early September.
That said, any snow that falls before the beginning of January usually
melts. If snow falls after January 1, generally it sticks around until the
middle to end of March.
It has been this way since I was born, with only minor exceptions. For
instance, since I've been gone (since 1997), there have been, I believe, two
winters that were so warm that the snow melted during the middle of winter.
>And how cool do the nights get in the summer? Thanx!
Oooh, let's see how my memory is working. If it's the early or late summer
(mid June to mid July or during September, it's usually about 15 degrees at
night, or about 60-65 Fahrenheit, occasionally the low teens (high 50's F).
During the hot and muggy days of August, the temperature usually doesn't
drop past 20 (68-72ish F). As always, this is just "most of the time" as I
recall.
By the way.....speaking of Toronto, there's a good possibility that I will
be returning to Toronto in September. Living in Newport Beach has been
nice, but it's way too pricey. You have to be one of the characters on "The
O.C." to afford this place..even on "the numbered streets" where I am
currently residing. :-)
I'll be looking forward to doing tours again, if there are still folks who
want them.

i figured it was rounded (duh) that is why i said if Natalie was right he
couldn't have been born *before* 1196 (1196 letting him be at the most 799.).
Whereas with 1193 that would have made him over 800 years old in 1995. Also, i
did not mean that almost means within a year...but the 20 yrs that has been
mentioned, well, that would have made Nick been 13 yrs old in 1228. But then
again, i suppose he can be whatever age we'd each like.

the line I was thinking of is in "Only the Lonely"
Nick says to Natalie and I quote "And how on earth do you think you can
help this eight hundred year old body, this incessant hunger for blood
...."
the use of the word body suggests this is an exact statement of his age.
vampire plus life as a mortal. which makes him born sometime around
the year 1192/3.
His birth might not have been recorded. but his baptism would have
been. of course those records probably got destroyed or lost long
ago.

It was filmed for the season that started airing in September 1994, and I
doubt if anyone bothered to figure out which eps would air after New Year's.
After all, these are the folks who had no problem with resurrecting
Schanke's mother in law even when John Kapelos pointed out the discrepancy.
<gr>
It's also possible that Shelly Goldstein developed the story during the
first season, which started airing in May 1992.
Although there would have been a record of Nick's birth, it might not have
been a very memorable date for him as a mortal. Any celebrating would have
been done for his Name Day (some charming N&N fiction has been written about
that), and the bureaucracy didn't track birthdates the way it does now! Of
course, it's also possible that he was named Nicholas because he was born on
Dec. 6.

Okay, I admit it, I was bored and I had a calculator.
;) Bad combination with FK on the brain.
Nick's been a vampire (as of 1996) for approximately
768 years. <bg> He hasn't killed for over a century.
So since there are 365 days a year... and let's say
that when hunting, he got about one mortal a night...
That's about 243,820 mortals. ;) Give or take a few
thousand.
Now for LaCroix...

I hope I get the same response. I just emailed (very, very politely) about
the same thing when I noticed my price went from CDN$ 29.21 to CDN$ 78.10.
With nary an email from Amazon informing me of the change. I thought for
sure they'd have to email you about something like this... if it *wasn't* FK
and I *wasn't* concerned about ruffling feathers I'd have someone's head on
a platter. Did anyone get an email about a price change? Anything?

Well, here's the stuff for September... quite a bit actually,
but I'm sure I've missed something, so please feel free to
post whatever you happen to know about.
As always, please check your local listings for exact dates & times,
I have been known to make typos (and so have the sources I've pulled
from). And I noticed as I was tying that many of the times were
late night East Coast / early am West Coast... so check a couple
days ahead or you might be a day late...
OTHER FUN STUFF:
For those of you that have watched o-so-many Canadian movies
and shows, here's one for you.... see how many actors you
recognize... it's from 1981... so they're all much younger than
we're used to. You may want to keep IMDB.com up, for those
"uh, umm, WHO IS THAT?" moments.
Escape from Iran: The Canadian Caper True 3,6,18,22,30
&&&&&&&&&&&&&
also this month, showing of John Woo's Once a Thief --
the original movie (filmed in Vancouver) and then two movies
that were made by putting together 2 of the TV episodes...
(filmed in Toronto). FK-wise -- Jennifer Dale has a lead role
and the second 2 also have Greg Kramer, Julian Richings,
and also Nicolas Lea (Krycek from the X-Files). Not great
movies (but then, how many of these are)... but a good laugh
and always fun seeing those 43 Canadian Actors at work. :-p
USA Network -- starting 6th, 8pm Pacific Time.... all 3 in a row

I just checked my pre-orders, and they are still at $22 USD. In defense of
Amazon, I've noticed changes in price and then got an e-mail a few days later.
I guess it takes a while for everything to catch up. So you may get an e-mail
