You are assuming LaCroix was telling Nick the truth and not just toying
with his mind. He doesn't have to have been. Though his comments
during the Asteroid scare would suggest that he was.

You are also assuming Nick really did kill him and not just injure him.
As I remember the scene in Dark Knight . LC was there. Nick looked
down at Alyce then looked back at LaCroix just in time to see him
vanish. There is a small possiblity he simply left.

a propos to nothing Why don't vampire clothes ever burn with them??? See

As for Divia Regeneration from that serious an injury (death) hs
take time. By scattering Divia's ashes to wind (something he didn't do
the first time), LaCroix has not only destroyed her body before it
could regenerate again, he has also dispersed it over a vast area making
it next to impossible for it to ever come together again. That's the
theory anyways. Or so he hopes. Anything is possible.

Chiming in a little late with this, but I couldn't resist. This is by
Wolfsheim from the album "Popkiller" - I would highly recommend this artist
to anyone - German synth, slightly mellow with extremely emotive lyrics. I
figure from a dark Nick to Lacroix.... or subtly UF for the rest of us. ;)

"for you i'm bleeding"

here i am
darkest night
is masking the cold
that embraces me

can't you see
truth means fear
your lying breath
never will resist

alone i sit here waiting
watching the world
in its agony

because i have seen
my future
my crying face
no cure i'm longing for

and no healer
heals the evil
i sought truth for you
condemned to fail

for you, for you
i'm bleeding
and every new dawn
ends in bitterness...

That's no problem
That's why people make parodies

John Edwards could be changed to "Ed Johnwards" or "Ed Johnson"
or something like that

People do this all the time

I remember one FK EP Schanke talking
about a coffie shop called "Buck Stars"
Not too hard to figure out
who they were referring to

I think we need a ruling from McLisa on this one. Yes, people do it all the
time in real life, but FKFIC has a set of rules that may or may not be
universal to "real life."

There was a time long a go where a non-FK celebrity threatened FKFIC. Yes, it
could have been shut down and the list owners in serious trouble. That is why
McLisa is so strict about certain things. PSU is a educational server, so we
also have to follow THEIR rules.

Just because FK used Buckstars, does not mean it is okay for us to use a
vaguely disguised real person unless McLisa says it is okay. FK had attorneys
and an entire studio behind them to check out legalities.

I heard John Kapelos say, at Bridging the Knight, that he adlibbed
Buckstar's because he thought it worked better than the plain reference to a
coffee shop in the script. The director stopped and there was a conference
as to whether to do that since it was clearly a reference to Starbuck's. I
imagine it was allowed to stay in because the reference wasn't slanderous.
There's nothing questionable about selling coffee. :)

What nearly got PSU sued was not only the use of Aaron and Tori Spelling as
characters, but the fact that the author treated them disrespectfully and
had them acting in an objectionable manner. I don't think I ever read the
story. However this is what I've gathered.

As long as a character with a similar name doesn't do anything Mr. Edward
would be likely to object to, if he read the story, I think it would be ok.
I like the idea of "Ed Johnson," as that's such a common name that it would
be unlikely to upset anyone.

Anyway, as long as the writer clearly tried not to use a real person as a
character without permission, I'm not going to object unless we really do
have a brush with said person's lawyers.
