Ditto. I am 26. Although I know that this list is quite varied. I
have seemed to notice, it does seem like (maybe not all true - but it
sometimes appears that way) there are many more .....for lack of a
better phrase.....older people (ie 30 and up) on the list. I may be
wrong.

Such as my cousin Jim, who referred to one of the running medalers in
the Transplant Olympics as a "little girl of thirty-five".

And to bring this on topic, in AMPH, Nick was referred to as a young
one by LaCroix.

I vote for starting with a new Mercury Maurauder. Got more wallop
than the Caddy for those high-speed pursuits and profiles like a

Ok first of all - sorry for the "older" - you know there is no nice
way of putting that - but I like "older" people (ie my favorite
actors, such as GWD, Nigel, and such are ALL over 40!)
Anyhoo.....
I was so jazzed yesterday when I noticed (after almost 2 years of
owning and driving it) that my trunk has an release lever inside of
it. I was taking out the groceries and was like what is that?
Looking closely I smiled thinking "Hey! My car is vampire friendly!"
Makes those "Warning - Protected by Vampire" decals I got make more
sense. :)

You know, wouldn't that be funny if that was an added option for a vehicle --
to be vampire friendly? You know, along with the release lever, it's got
self darkening windows for when you just *can't* get into the trunk, tiny little
refridgerator in the trunk as well, stuff like that.

I wonder if that would get Nick to give up the Caddy? Hee hee hee I don't
see Uncle going for it though.

As long as we're doing intros: I'm Lisa McDavid, aka McLisa, one of the
listowners for Forkni-l and Fkfic-l. Just for the record, I'm not the founder.
That's Jaye Prior, who is still on the list and sometimes still posts. However,
I did sign onto Forkni-l the day it was set up and I've been on Fkfic-l since
the first day. I got hooked on Forever Knight when it was still in first runs
on CBS Crimetime after Primetime.

I'm one month and five days older than Nigel. :) Ok, that translates to 53,
which is evidently not old enough to know better. :) Sometimes I'm surprised
that I'm old enough to be legally responsible for my actions. Sometimes I feel
older than creation. Mostly I don't think about my own or anyone's age unless
there's a reason to do so.

I have no children, because I'm an old maid librarian <eg>, but I do have seven
cats and a dog who get treated like kids.

<chuckle>

I know what you mean McL, I'm 38 but life continues to
baffle the hell out of me, most days I feel about 12,
16 on a really good day. <g>

As for how I came to FK and the online fandom, back in
the mid-nineties, a coworker of mine at Borders
mentioned it, and I found it in syndication on a local

ABC affiliate at 11pm on Sundays. It disappeared from
there, and eventually I ran into it on USA.

When I moved out to AZ in 97 I was pleasantly surprised
to find it on Sci-Fi (was even more pleasantly
surprised to find the cable company in my tiny city
even carried the Sci-Fi channel)

At a friend's encouragement, I went to the local
library in Spring of '98 and got on the internet for
the first time. I was learning my way around when I
did a search on FK just for the hell of it. It turned
up FKFanfic.com. I read and liked a story by
Eric McCann, emailed him, and he very kindly directed
me to some more sites.

I discovered JADFE at some point, and UFish fic, which
led to joining the UF, my first email list. I heard
about the (then) high volume on FORKNI-L and it took
me a while to become un-intimidated enough to join,
but eventually I did and the rest is history.

I know other people lose interest in fandoms, find new
ones to get involved in, move on when a show goes out
of production, but no matter how many fandoms I take
on, FK will always be my first online home. There's
just something about the FK online community,
it feels like good friends or family, I can't imagine
leaving.

I got hooked on Forever Knight after a friend told me
about the show. As soon as I bought a computer I
found this list and joined it(been a lurker since). At
least several times week I listen to my Forever Knight

on my wall at work. They make for interesting

Pretty frightening to think I'm supposedly wise enough to be held accountable
for my own actions and consequences. <g> I'm six months older than GWD, and
five months older than my wonderful boyish husband, Robert, which equates to 46,
and as my two teenage kids tell me, is quite old, but I don't see it that way.
I still have that youthful feeling running through me, it just comes with
occasional creaking knees and limbs. <g>

I've been a fan of FK for four years, discovering it on Scifi the summer of
1999. Fell in love with the show almost immediately. In my spare time, I
dabble in writing FK fiction.

I don't have as many pets as Lisa, although it may soon change when my daughter
starts a volunteer job at the local animal shelter this summer. <g> We
currently have a cat, Max, who resembles Natalie's Sydney, and a lab.

Ok, since we're doing introductions.
I am 26, have a BA in History, but work as a receptionist in the
Radiology Dept of a Regional Trauma Center.
I found FK for the first time when it was on CBS and my brother who
was away at school at the time told me about a cool show. I stayed
up late one night to watch it. It was good, but it was on too late.
When I saw the ads for the 3rd season on USA I decided to watch it.
It was my freshman year in college and I didn't have cable in my dorm
room so my parents dutifully recorded it every monday night. The rest
is history. (I eventually turned my roommate onto the series - she
went with me to Stratford last summer! It was like January and I
called her up and said "Ger is going to be at Stratford" she then
said "When are we going?" <g>)
I started writing fic about 3 years later.

This is a wonderful community to be a part of. Mnay of the other
fandoms I am a part of become very cliquey. Yes there is a general
list, but people who have met become very friendly and begin to
exclude the rest. Here I have only met a few people but everyone is
very kind.

I bet I wrote this when I joined the list but since
everybody is doing it.

I'm 31, single, no kids and as yet no pets (notice the
'yet').
I teach History, English and Social Studies at a
German High School near Frankfurt.

I discovered FK in 95/96 but didn't become a real fan
until 2001 (due to the rather unkind treatment of FK
on German TV). I discovered the fandom even later but
have since become an avid Cousin and joined the UF,
writing my own fiction even.

And being an FK fan and a member of this list is one
of the best things that has happened to me so far.

famdoms I'm in now stem from my first online fandom,
Due South. I'd heard of FK because some DS alumni
guest starred on it, but was never able to watch
it....didn't get Scifi down there. I started watching
GWD on Tracker and had been keeping an eye on the FK
listings to catch one particular ep. I saw Ger's name
and didn't even realize he was the star until I tuned
in. It even started to grow on my mom LOL...she says
*she* wishes they'd bring it back. I'm really a

I'm {mumblemumblemumble} years old with three sons,
{supposedly grown but I can't say for certain about
the 23 year old.} I started watching FK when it first
hit CBS Crimetime after Primetime. I had seen the
Rick Springfield version and had thought at that time
it would be a great show but it never happened. It
took me at least 15 minutes into the show to realize
that it was indeed the same show with different stars.
I was hooked from day one and followed it from time
slot to time slot and network to network.

I didn't find the online family until after the show

enthusiasm. I seldom post but I do host the JADFE
