I remember a part in the movie "Steel Magnolias", One
character makes an "Armidillo" shaped cake with blood
red cake inside.

Also someone mentioned a Fic of Nick going to see a
phychiatrist... I had an Idea for a parody in which
Nick visits Sigmund Freud and during a session, the
doctor tells him that there's nothing wrong with him,
he opens the door and LaCroix in in the waiting room
droning on and on about his life, "...and then in the
fourth century AD I....", Freud turns to Nick and
says, "I could be mistaken."

That's deliriously hilarious Vic - you've got to get that parody done or at
least develop the script.

Either the psychiatrist would go nuts, or be drummed out of the
profession by trying to publish a paper on his unusual patient. <g>

I can see where Nick might have contributed to the good doctor's
theory. <g> But I wonder---would Nick want to go to a shrink and
become "cured"--that is, become well-adjusted? That would imply that
he accept his state as a vampire, and give up his search for a cure.

on the other hand, perhaps Lacroix would arrange for a shrink to
attend a party and have a little conversation with Nick, in the hope
of shaking Nick out of his delusions? <g>

Did anyone else receive this?? I'm assuming that most of you did, or at
least those of you who voted for Forever Knight. (I'd cut and paste, but I'm
going on the assumption that you've seen it already.)

I'd like to email this guy but I don't know what I'd say or what good it
would do anyway. *sighs* It's things like this that make me really really glad
I didn't go and sign up to vote for Spike TV or whatever it was a couple of
days ago... I didn't sign up multiple accounts and I still feel embarrassed by
this letter.

Okay, you can all go back to your discussion of shrinks while I go curl up in
bed (with my flame retardant suit on).

Whoever did this really wasn't thinking. Using a few e-mail addys wouldn't
be a big deal (I did 2 different ones myself, but one was really for my
sister), but something so obvious?? Geese... one person doing *138*
accounts! I wonder if FK is the only show that dropped for that reason. It's
not even at 1,000 votes anymore...I doubt the owner of that site has much
respect for our show getting to DVD anymore.

If anyone on here hasn't voted for FK on DVD, we could really use your votes
to get FK back up. FK was at #3 at one time, then #6 recently, and now at
it's worse #8. If you'd like to help change this, visit this site and
register to vote for FK on DVD (it's free and easy):

http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/index.cfm

I thought this was going to be real news about the FK DVDs coming out later
this year, not this mess.

I did write him a letter on behalf of the fandom. Here it is:
...................................
Dear Gord,

I just wanted to express my apologies on behalf of the Forever Knight fandom
for what happened. I am truly shocked to see that *1* person took that much
time to do such cheating. I'm sure this incident has likely made you lose
respect for our show getting to DVD. Through my experience the last few
years, the majority of FK fans I have met are wonderful, kind, and fun
people sharing this common interest, but there always is that "bad apple" of
the bunch. Again, I am truly sorry for whoever did this.

Regards,
Kristin

Quote from letter from Gord at www.tvshowsondvd.com

---"Unfortunately this email is intended for one person, but I have
decided to send it out to everyone who has voted for "Forever Knight" to
show my disgust for what this individual has done.

Earlier tonight I deleted 138 accounts for "people" that voted for
"Forever Knight." You see, these were fake accounts created by an
individual for the sole purpose of increasing the votes for the show.
Thanks to this idiot, I spent most of the evening deleting accounts,
just one day after getting back from a vacation."---

----- ----- -----

Well done to whoever did this...not.

After the bit on the list a few days back about voting for Spike TV, I
felt compelled out of the shadows of lurkdom to have a wee rant...

The FK fandom has had a good reputation i beleive in the past, please
don't ruin all the hard work done by fans and friends of FK fans who
have helped keep a show alive which we all love and enjoy.
Many websites like this one, KtK, and story archives which we all love,
take a LOT of time, and effort to keep up and running, not to mention
the old dollar or two.
Petitions and vote counts like this one on www.tvshowsondvd.com DO have
an impact but ONLY if it is done honestly. SOMEONE DOES CHECK THE VOTES.

I know we all want more FK stuff, DVD's would be awesome etc. The thing
is the marketing people of TBTB will do exactly as Gord has done and
check the validity of votes, or comments etc which are put down by fans
in order to get an accurate number before forking over what would be a
fair amount of cash in order to release offical merchaidse.

So basicly dont do sh** like this anymore becuase word ALWAYS gets
round. EVERY move you make leaves a papertrail...so dont be daft and
think you will get away with it.
And the last thing we need right now with possible dvd's in sight is
TPTB to cancel it!

now, i have had my 'high horse' rant...so i am climbing down to mingle
among the mortals around me...you may continue.:)=3D

How *do* you send a letter back?

I'm glad you did send one back, but I too would like
to send a letter on the fandom's behalf.. I've only
been in the fandom for 7 years (I figured it out last
night) and in that 7 years, I've never really have
come across an unkind FK fan.. I may have just been
lucky, or it just shows how friendly we all are.

"Honestly, I almost blocked the show from even showing up on the site
AT ALL. Thankfully I thought about it for a few seconds and realized
that would be a stupid thing to do and would penalize 99.9% of the
people that voted for the show, but I wanted the fandom to know what
one of their own did. I also hoped that the person responsible for
this would somehow hear about how their actions affected someone else
(me) and show a bit of guilt.

Gord"

I don't think it's right that he practically bashes the whole fandom with
his letter though. It was awfully unprofessional sounding. He can't blame
what one person did on 100's of other people too. His comment about FK going
to "where it belongs" really got to me to.

Well, it seems to me it was just a few days ago someone here was suggesting
we pretend to be men when we are women and so forth to send e-mails to Spike
TV. this is why - it does NOT WORK! It makes all FK fandom look bad. One person
CAN cause someone to bash and entire fandom. Like a while back when a few FK
fans posted hateful messages against another vampire show on sci-fi saying only
FK was any good. That turned some people off of FK who normally probably
would have helped our efforts. Plus those on eBay who insist on illegally selling
fan produced DVDs and videos instead of putting their efforts getting the show
professionally produced.

Play by the rules, PLEASE - 99% of FK fans manage to do so.

Sorry, but with 138 illegal votes, that's fair comment. And I completely
understand him wanting the word to get out about this issue; he knows
that if we knew about it, we'd be upset and the fraudster would get an
earful.

I've written a brief apology similar to the ones others folks have
posted, and I encourage everyone else who received his e-mail to do that
too. If he finds out that the other fans are just as bugged as he is,
that will help improve our reputation. So if you voted, write and say
that you are just as upset as he is, and you're sorry that one of our
own has caused him grief. When he's deluged with sympathetic e-mails by
people in our fandom, it's bound to improve his point of view.

Yes, since I voted at the site, I received the e-mail as well. It IS very
embarrassing for the whole fandom when one person makes us all look bad. I
just hope that any false information received on this site doesn't adversely

Might I suggest that you only do this if you truly ARE sorry this has
happened? False sincerity, like false voting, can hurt a cause much more
than help it.

Just thought I'd mention that, in response to the reply I sent him earlier,
he asked where to find the list, since I mentioned in my e-mail the fact

Perhaps the site owner disallowed your votes because you voted twice (and used
your real name to identify yourself). He seems to be very conscientious about
having real numbers, not inflated numbers, in his voting---for which I commend
him.

This is an excellent example of why cheating---and yes, voting under multiple
email accounts and using fake names is cheating---will eventually come back and
kick the fandom in the butt.

Absolutly!! pretending that you are hundreds of people instead of just one

I know for a fact that almost 100% of the Fk fans are good honest sweet
hardworking people. We all share a love of Fk and when good things happen regarding
it it feels wonderful, but its a hollow victory if anything comes because of
lies and deceit.
so when you all vote for something and or request something on behalf of FK,
