Subject: Upcoming Vampire Special

Hi -

I am putting out a plea to anyone who gets WE TV
(Womens Entertainment TV) on their cable/dish system.
My system does not get this channel.

On Wednesday, May 28 at 10:00pm Eastern time, the WE
channel will be airing a new vampire special called,
NIGHT BITES: WOMEN AND THEIR VAMPIRES.

Can someone who gets this channel please record it for
me?  Of course, I will pay for the tape and postage.

The ad shows Buffy and Spike, but I'm hoping they will
also mention FOREVER KNIGHT.

By the way, if you go to the WE site, they have a poll
for movie vampires.  Which would you like to bite you
and which one you wouldn't want to bite you.
Unfortunately, they only have movie vampires, not TV,
so no Nick.

Subject: Why that AOL post was blank

Here's my guess, having a background of sorts in computer networks. When you
send a message, it is divided into packets of of data. These packets are
then sent individually over the internet and resassembled at their
destination.  Since the headers travel separately from the message, it is
possible for a header to arrive, but the message never does. When the
message, or parts of the message, go astray without the parts of the header,
you simply don't get anything. This is because your system doesn't know
where the message was going.

If just the headers arrive, some systems send them on to you so that at
least you know you had an email.

The other possibility is that the sender had an accident and sent an email
which didn't have a post. This is always happening to me on my office
system. (Over-eager mouse which I can't reset. I've tried everything but
threatening it with Screed! <g>)

Anyway, I just wanted to assure the sender -- I think it was Robin? Or did I
misunderstand a post? -- that it's not her fault. It's just the net
gremlins.
