I always thought that she kinda wanted him but she
knew that she couldn't do it (like in Dying to be
Young....is that it, with the Countess?)so she had LC
do it. But I've also always thought that LC thought
Nick had potential and didn't realize until later that
Nick was going to be rebellious.

> We never get to see LC treat her the way he
> treated Nick (there is one scene in Father's Day,
> butI don't think he tortures her like he tortures
> Nick).

(note: McLisa,in my word wrap, the above quote is 4
lines....not sure what it is in yours because it was
more when I snipped it)

Are we talking physical, or mental or both? Do we ever
see LC beat Nick at all? I've got a fic in progress,
but am not sure if we actually know if he beats him or
not. There is, IMHO, quite a bit of mental, but I'm
wondering on the physical side.

Mel, who's read a couple rape fics, but can't see LC,
at least in her mind, going quite *that* far. Beating,
maybe, but not that.

Check Father's Day again. If I'm not mistaken LC
actually slaps Nick pretty hard before pinning him to
the wall.

We've seen him hit Nick a few times, mostly in flashbacks, but we also get to
see a couple of knock-down-drag-out fights between them, and the sheer intensity
(almost desperation) with which Nick fights leads me to believe that he expects
LaCroix to be pretty brutal.

Catch the look in his eyes in Trophy Girl, which is
what I'm doing the fic with....missing scene of the
part right after LC pins him against the wall. He's
definately expecting something bad in that one.

Reluctant as I am to promote my own fics, but I thought I might
mention that I wrote a fanfic about one of Lacroix's Pompeiian frescos
(one which would be a very desirable target for thieves <g>). If

That would have to be Dark Knight....(and somewhat first season)
the short hair, styled nice, with a slightly scruffy face.

I think that for the third season Nick must have borrowed Janette's
hairdresser from the vampire writer episode. Tis a pity that hair stylist
wasn't eaten by Divia.
Perhaps Nicholas saved the hairstylist from Janette's wrath that time and in
a fit of angstiness agreed to let the demented soul do his hair for a time?

Killer Instinct while he was on the rooftop hunting for scent of his
tormenter. Or maybe that was because of the duster. I love that duster.
The duster with that scraggly look. Very Dark. Very Bad Boy Nicola

Aw, scrag it! My favorite Nick hair would be the one I could get ahold of--

Oh, Laurie! Ha, I so agree.

Running a close second for Nick's least attractive
hairstyle has to be that dreadful comb down/comb
forward nightmare used in some of his "youth"
flashbacks.

I liked the early one...the first season look someone
mentioned. And while I'm at it, I didn't really like
Ger's look in Tracker....I like him better without the
beard, and with the look he had back in early FK. I
agree about the third season hair. My other least
favorite look was the pic in CC on the driver's
lisence. I think the glasses were kinda ugly, but
that's just MHO.

But then again, I also kinda like his look in the Bad
Blood flashback(Like the cape on him in that ep
BTW)...I think he had the classic aristocratic
Dracula-type vampire look... and a couple other
eps...anyone else have any comments about the
greased-back hair look he had in there and a few other
eps? (StF was another)

One other interesting look was in...what was the
ep...Trophy Girl? The sort of moderately long look.

I do have to admit the long hair scruffy look in the
DK and DbtLotM flashbacks was kinda yummy <g> but my
fave look is the short-n-scruffy one.

BTW, one other favorite thing I forgot to mention is I
really like Nick's leather jacket. Especially when
combined with that short-scruffy look hehe.

This could easily have been LaCrox' villa. The
article said it was being redecorated. I could
imagine the General just having acquired it and in the
middle of a refitt of it when Vesuvius blew. Imagine
his revenge on the thieves. Would make the Mafia look

I don't see it that way. Janette is very strong. She
wanted Nick. I don't think she would have done it
otherwise, even as controlling a master as LaCroix is.
As strong as LaCroix is, I think the aversion to
having her body be under someone else's control that
was engendered by experience as a mortal was even
stronger.

There are several occasions of physical violence onscreen, which
I, for one, have always felt were shown in such a way that they
implied that there was more of it rhat had gone on in the past,
offscreen.

Following this discussion, I rewatched Father's Day last night
(although I shouldn't have, since I started watching it at 10.30 and
I had to get up at 6am this morning for work)
Anyhoo, in the first flashback where LC slaps Nick and holds him
against the walll, Nick kind of took it in stride. Like 'ok, I'm in
trouble, let him get it over with so I can leave'. He did talk back,
but he just let LC get his anger out.
Also, toward the end when Nick is coming down the stairs and sees LC
and Janette, he looks a bit nervous - like he's afraid he's going to
get hit or something. Then LC says "Let's not make a scene." Like
something was going to happen later on.
I kind of thought that's like when you were young and out with your
parents and when you get in trouble, they say something like "we'll
discuss this when we get home"

I think whoever was in charge of hair 3rd season went
for longer hair on the sides for Nick to try to
compensate for the weight GWD gained which showed in
his face. Unfortunately he merely looked heavier
*and* poorly groomed. Kind of frowsy.

I've seen fanfic, Lorelei and April French come to
mind, where Nick's diet (moo juice and Nat's
gawd-awful concoctions) is put forth as an explanation
for his deteriorating appearance, with his spirits/state
of mind as a contributing factor. I'd say that his
spirits showed not only in a mind/body connected way,
but that if he was in a depressed state of mind, he
might have cared less about his appearance and not
given the attention to it that he had before. That is
fairly palatable as cheese goes, IMO.

I sorta rewatched it, but I didn't want to spend time

got to the scenes in question.

The only that kinda got to me in that scene was that
LC's 'vamp eye' contacts just didn't have the same
realistic feel at least to me as the effect in some of
the other eps did....just IMHO.

True, though, he didn't look anywhere close to as
scared as he did in TG. His look in that scene was
like "Oh boy, I am *so* going to get it now" or
"Please don't mangle me too badly". LC had a look like
"I'm going to make you pay and pay and pay until
you'll wish you were dead." He was *really* angry that
time. I love the growls.....how do they do those
anyway? Use animal growls?

I guess that makes for good explanation.Someone who is
depressed usually takes less care of himself.

I like his half-scruffy look of DK and Killer Instinct
and actually in Black Buddha, after that it just gets
worse.
I don't like his look from the middle of season one
onward. He looks like he's barely out of high school,
sweet and innocent but not the sexy vampire from DK.

Worst hair ep for me: flashbacks in Dead Air; Gawd, he
looks like a Barbie doll.
