If I recall correctly, a whole lot more than blood types have to match
for a successful organ donation; tissue types also need to line up.

Let's not forget about midnight knee operations (I don't think so)!

Nancy Kaminski
who had a knee operation at the same-day surgery, and not an organ
thief in sight!

After I got offline earlier, I started thinking and
did remember a couple of things.

I'm not sure about other organs, but isn't age also a
factor at least in heart transplants? I don't remember
where I heard it, but it was on one of those TLC
medical shows I think...that they like to have a close
age match due to the fact that the donor organ is as
old as the person it belonged to so if it's too much
older than the recipient, it'll go out faster....of
course they were desperate in that case so that might
be understandable.

And I think those thieves were kinda dumb....taking
only one organ and wasting all those other valuable
organs.

And Nat....shouldn't she have been more suspicious of
the whole general anesthesia thing? The doctor did
come up with an explanation, and I could see a regular
person being fooled, but Nat has a medical
background....shouldn't she have at least been a
*little* suspicious?

While we're critiquing....I don't think FK's police
procedure was right in a couple cases....would they
really let a cop work solo? And why wasn't Nick yelled
at more for running off and leaving Schanke/Tracy
alone so many times? Aren't they supposed to stay with
their partners? And would they really let a guy with a
sun allergy (a real sun allergy)be a cop? Though I
guess if they're not disabled in any other way, they
could be kept on night shift....anyone know for sure
about any of these?

Mel, who just got done watching GWD in Cube 2

Well only donations I know about are kidneys. (My sister is still recovering
from her jan. transplant.) blood type, amd 6 enzemes are checked. I think 2 min
are needed to be concitered a match. (I match 4 with my sister, good thing if
she ever rejects the current one). plus, even if your blood types match, and you
got enough matching enzemes, your bloods still might fight each other... so
yeah.. alot goes into the whole process.

And I think those thieves were kinda dumb....taking
only one organ and wasting all those other valuable
organs.

Oh yes, very stupid, hearts are needed, but so are kindeys, livers (you know you
can give part of a liver and the liver part grows into a full one? kinda weird,
but true, that is why Live Donors are possable for livers.) nevertheless the
skin graphs, eye stuffs, etc etc etc... Bone marrow even!

Hay sorry if this a bit off-topic, but I have to add that snice we are talking
about donations, just signing the back of your drivers licence is *not* enough.
Your family has last say in donations. (USA, don't know about elsewheres) so you
*must* let your family know your wishes to donate! they can go against your
signiture!

And Nat....shouldn't she have been more suspicious of
the whole general anesthesia thing?

I would say, even I would be, and I am not a doctor.

Would they really let a cop work solo?

Cop yes, detective, don't know...

And why wasn't Nick yelled at more for running off and leaving Schanke/Tracy
alone so many times?

He was, just you know, we don't see every last moment of nick's life... not
enough screen time.. ::smirk::

Im actually looking for a beta, a patient beta, to beta crossover story.

It features Forever Kngiht Babylon 5 and buffy. I had a FK familiar beta
but I lost touch with them. Person should have a least a minor familiarity
with B5 especially season 3 and 4, as that encompasses a mjor part of the
sotry as location/.

I am not looking for the strict gramittical beta, as I have one of those on
my list, but I need a FK fmailir person who can tell me if I am keeping with
the genral flavor of the FK characters...

TY in advance

Never underestimate the tenacity of fandom. I once worked at a convention art
auction where the last piece of the night, which was a print of a traced line
drawing of Napoleon and Illya (this is man from uncle) in bed, in an embrace,
under a blanket mind you, colored in with pencil, that sold for over $850.00,
the min bid had been something like $2.00, and the artist sold the print at her
dealer table and was even willing to make another one for the losing bidder if
they would get some sense.

Still in UK, Be home tomorrow.

They're the rules for the list.
FK has Enforcers. The list has Don and McLisa.

So keep the rules and nobody will have to whammy you.

Nick's fireplace. I have heard that Ger acquired it after the show and now
has it in his house.
I always wanted to know how Nick was supposed to have gotten it. Did it come
out of his past? Did he recognize something from his family's castle in an
antique shop? Fanfic, anyone? :)

The remote that controls everything. I _want_ one of those.

Favorite things in either of Nat's apartments: Sidney, as someone else said.
:) Least favorite: that ghastly red-orange paint in the first apartment.

Does anyone know where I can find some good FK
wallpapers? I'm especially looking for Nick/Nat, but
I'll take a look at any sites anyone can recommend.
I've done some web searching, but can't seem to locate
any good sites. Thanks in advance.

Me, too on the "curtains". I've been working a lot of nights on the
weekends, and the diurnal world has been rather intrusive. Maybe it's time
to build that secret room in the basement.
