Subject: Cool Site I found

While I was visiting a link from my brother's website, I found a link
to the site http://www.tvtome.com
It is kind of like an imdb.com for tv. Of course I looked up FK and
they have a list of the major cast (all seasons), a complete list of
epiosodes, goofs, etc. YOu can click on any of the cast members and
it give a filmography (for television only, not movies). I looked up
GWD and it showed, FK,Black Harbour, Dracula, and even Airwolf!
It is a cool site.

The orginial CUBE is available from most online
bbok/video/music stores now. HYPERCUBE can be
pre-ordered now, but won't be available until April
15th. They are both available VHS and DVD.

This morning they ran the FK pilot

Stonetree was talking about the "Scoripian legend"

I have some relitives that live in arizona
I asked them about it & they said they never heard of it
they kill Scoripians all the time & nothing happened to them
(no swarms or anything)

I'm sure it was something the writers made up
But it's a scarry mental image, which makes it a legend

I heard the legend in summer camp almost 40 years ago and later passed it on
to my campers - it seems to be a standard campfire/ghost story. A great
legend ... like vampires<g>.

When I woke up this morning and started getting dressed for work, I
noticed two tiny round cuts on my knee that were about an inch apart.
My first reaction was "Oh, I must have gotten bitten by a vampire
last night."

Of course it would have had to have been a baby vampire or one of the
guys from Nick Knight because the cuts were so small.
Ok, I have to have breakfast now, so I can *shudder* go to work.

Oh no. It was ... SMURF VAMPIRES!

Subject: Coroners and Knights

Here’s some interesting trivia for you. While reading Patricia Cornwell’s latest
book, Portrait of a Killer, Jack the Ripper Case Closed, she discusses the
origin of the word “coroner.” It seems that eight hundred years ago, during
the reign of Richard I, “crowners”, as they were called, were elected by the
freeholders of the county to investigate death. It was considered a decree of
His Majesty’s realm for these officers to insure the “pleas of the crown” in
finding any wrongdoing in sudden deaths, whether it be suicide or murder since
these actions were sins against God and King. If the “crowner” or coroner and
jury determined homicide or suicide, the offender’s estate would end up in the
crown’s coffers, and possibly if the crowner bargained correctly, some went into
his own pockets.

The “crowner” had to be of good standing, financially secure, objective and
*honest* in his collection of revenues due to the crown and.... last but not
least …..a knight! Sounds like a certain blue eyed, blond haired detective to
me! And just another reason why I think Natalie and Nick belong together. <g>

As an aside, I thought this book was perfect for LaCroix as he would relish
reading about another depraved mind. <eg> In fact, after reading this book, I
think Jack the Ripper and Lacroix had much in common: cunningness, intelligence,
mastery, sharp wit, cruelness and *probably* unloving, uncaring parents.

Hey -
I am working on a new website, which I plan to register as an actual
domain. To keep this on topic, it will be a FK site, hopefully much
better and more extensive than the one I have.
Problem is, the domain (knightwatch.com)I wanted is already taken so
I am looking for input on others....

knightwatch.org
knight-watch.com
81kilo.com

The first two are the front runners. I would like to keep it on the
knightwatch, radio type theme. Please send any opinions to me
privately. I don't need to tie up list space with this, thanks!

Aside from Schanke's last line to the nurse being out

anxious to get a look at the files before he has a

        Not sure.
It is my belief that a warrant is only required if permission
is not given. Permission itself can replace the warrant.
The hospital may have a policy of not providing information except
in answer to a warrant. If a hospital administrator decides to
ignore that policy, they may be opening the hospital up to a civil
lawsuit (which is why they generally won't supply information except
in answer to a warrant), but it may not "taint" the actual
information supplied.
It also strikes me that Schanke has no intention of ever bringing
any information that the hospital supplies him with into a court.
He wants a name to give him a lead. He'll then go and dig around the
names supplied by the hospital and see what he uncovers.
He could generate evidence completely on his own that is sufficient
to prove guilt - and never even have to submit the facts supplied by
the hospital.
'Course, with the way that the legal systems sometimes operate, he
could cause the whole case to be thrown out if the correct judge and
lawyer is found....

Not knowing how it works in Canada, but in the US that is considered "fruit of
the tainted tree," or some other such colorful expression to that effect. In
other words, evidence he finds because he obtained information illegally (in
this case, the name of a blood donor) would be considered inadmissable. The
only reason he found it is because he obtained illegal information.

That assumes that the writers on Law & Order know what they are
doing :-)

'Course my personal evidence that there is a vampire cop working in
the Toronto Police is television..... TV writers wouldn't make
something up just to make it more entertaining? Would they?

Subject: FK references in the oddest places

Okay... I was interested in an article by Lee Siegel in the current issue
of The New Republic (March 31, 2003), titled "Crime Scenes: Why cop shows
are eternal" and saw the list of the shows that were being discussed -- the
usual stuff -- Law & Order, NYPD Blue, CSI, etc., and then I got to the
secong paragraph (of which I will copy the first two sentences to give you
the full context, but not even a whole paragraph):

"Here is a sample of the police dramas currently on television, both new
shows and old: CSI, Without a Trace, Law & Order, 24, The Shield, a new
Dragnet, The Division, Fastlane, Cops, The Sentinel, Streets of San
Francisco, True Crime, Boomtown, The Wire, NYPD Blue, Hawaii Five-O,
Columbo, Miami Vice, U.S. Marshals, Hill Street Blues, Forever Knight. At
any moment on American television, someone is either committing a crime or
getting arrested, shooting or getting shot, chasing or being chased."

Okay, I have to admit it caught me by surprise. Do you think that Siegel
knew that the tag line for FK is "Vampire Cop in Toronto?"

Two comments:
1. It is not an American show, but is one of the more Canadian of the
Canadian shows shown on American tv, imho.
but more importantly:
2. Do you think Siegel KNOWS what kind of a show it is? My theory is
that either Siegel Does know, and it is a guilty pleasure and kind of a
shout out to those who are in the audience who know the show, OR that he (I
think he) has no idea, but noticed that it was classified as a cop show,
and didn't think any further. FK is not mentioned later in the
article. My personal thought is that it is the first of the alternatives,
that it is indeed one of his favourites. Because, having the Sentinel on
there, and knowing that SciFi has the show, how could he not know?
