Subject: Lightbulbs

Since I haven't seen any Nick & Natpacker lightbulb comments, I thought
I'd toss this one out.

1 to give the burned-out bulb an autopsy and figure out why it went
dead.

1 to look over the new light bulb and give it a clean bill of health.

1 to try and get the burned-out bulb to come back into the light.

1 to angst about the old bulb burning out in the first place.

Actually, Vachon was being "competent." It was Nick who'd lead him to
believe that any threat would be coming from OUTSIDE the apartment, that URS
was the potential threat. When he discovers Urs is lurking outside, he
confronts her -- heads her off, tries to discover if Nick had things right.
It's not Vachon's fault that Nick pointed him down the wrong road.

And, to defend Tracy, she would have overpowered Ellen, or even Monica,
given her basic police academy training, but no one would expect a human to
win against a preternatural vampire. And, Tracy says so herself: "I've seen
her in the sun." So, she has NO reason to suspect Ellen is, in her own way,
a vampire.

In Tracy's defense, like with Schanke, the show wasn't about Nick's partner.
It was about Nick. It was about his quest and him getting to play hero to
atone for his sins, blah, blah, blah. The sidekick is never as smart or
strong or agile as the superhero, and even Schanke didn't get away with not
appearing less than adequate at times.

The Northern Sun catalogue sells a very Schanke

"Polka or Die"

How about a variation on the "Do not meddle in the
affairs of dragons/cats" sticker/t-shirt:

"Do not meddle in the affairs of vampires for you are
O Positive and would fit neatly in Nick's trunk."

I agree. I just saw the episode again tonight. This story is never
really resolved. Was Tracy's ghost trapped in time. Did she just want
her playmate back or was she angry that Tracy was alive and she was dead.
Or was she actively helping Shirelle.

Interesting how Alyssa was dressed in her wedding gown while she haunted
Nick. Was that because he remembered her that way or do ghosts get to
choose their wardrobe when they go haunting.

and Just why did Nick assume Urs was the guilty party. that always struck
me as a gigantic leap with nothing to go on. unless of course he knew
something we didn't.

Speaking of things like that How did Tracy find out about the Raven club. I
realize of course we are supposed to assume Vachon told her but would he
under the circumstances? surely the less Tracy knew about their kind the
safer she would be.

Well, it was the last thing she wore while alive, so
that is likely how Nick would remember her, especially
since seeing her dressed that would be guaranteed to
elicit the maximum amount of guilt. Also, most likely
she would have been buried in it.

ON the practical side, she would be most easily
recongized from earlier scenes if she wore the same
outfit, and the show probably didn't want to pay the
rental on more than one costume for the character.

Thought they showed her "dead" that way after Nick snacked a bit too
much.... The other ghosts weren't exactly in their "sunday best" either. I
just assumed it's what they're wearing when they died.

Hi! As I was updating my "Women of Forever Knight" site, I realized how many
Kristin Lehman screencaps I have up now...

Exactly 1228.

Reaching that number exactly was unintentional, but pretty kewl.

So, if you'd like to enjoy the 1228-ness of the site, go now...

More Kristin screencaps are going up this weekend, meaning then number will
have to change to something with much less meaning :(

I guess it would have helped, but then: he doesn't
know because he can't remember it and Nat would die
before she tells him. I wonder why LC didn't but maybe
he was amused by Nick's state and it was good for him
as well as Nick didn't remember their animosity
either.

I always thought it was symbolic, because he was Nick's cross to bear.
OTOH, looking at McLisa's post, perhaps it was because Nick became *his*
cross to bear! Or, maybe it had something to do with Nick being a former
Crusader... "fighting for the Cross"...

Subject: The Animal part of my thing

I'll throw out a couple I came up with to get the
animal part of my thread started.

Schanke: I think he'd be a dog. He's usually friendly,
likes to eat, often lighthearted...but you don't want
to mess with his family or friends, or he gets
protective.

Janette: I think she'd be a black panther...I think
'beautiful but deadly'.

LaCroix: Hm....Vampire bat? LOL Or maybe alpha wolf.

Screed: Definately(sp?) a rat (wouldn't he?)

Divia: Snake. She's treacherous and her bite is the
only vampire's in the show that can kill another
vampire. The evil's like a venom.

I'm less sure about Nick, Nat, Tracy, Vachon and the
captains. (and anyone else I forgot)Any ideas? Or any
better ones for the ones I've mentioned?

I definitely see LaCroix as an alpha wolf.

For some reason, I see Tracy as this tiny little chihuahua -- highly
excitable, and her bark is worse than her bite. (Sorry to all the Perks and
Dark Perks... I just never really cared for Tracy all that much).

So what about the Captains? Could we say that Stonetree would have been a

To me, Vachon is a lion. A big, lazy, male lion, content for the most part
to let the others in his pride do the work. But he's also fiercely
protective, and is willing to fight like hell when it's for something he
believes in. And let's not forget his mane. <g>

Maybe even a young lion - with those big, soulful eyes and that kind of
playful attitude, he acts like one not long out of cub hood.

Goodness knows I'd like to play with him. <veg>
